I have three smart phones, 1 laptop, & 1 desktop, plus cable tv sometime going all at the same time. I've had problems where the internet will just drop. I've had to resent my router often. Is this normal. I'm using a D-Link dir-615 router. Would a different router serve me better?

The DIR-615 is pretty old, so a new router wouldn't hurt. It is impossible to say if it would fix your problem though, because we don't know what the problem is.
If the cable is going down at the same time as the internet, then that is NOT a router issue. Do you have cable boxes? Sounds like a signal problem either going to the house or in the house. What modem do you have and can you post the signal levels? Should be available at 192.168.100.1 website but can give specifics once I know what modem you have.

I also have three mini Boxes. And only the internet goes down, not the tv.

Thank you, but you can edit out the MAC address. That is personal information. SB6180 is a good modem for Preffered, and maybe Premier, but anything above 100Mbps, I would suggest a newer one. That isn't causing your problem though.
To see your signal levels, go to http://192.168.100.1/cmSignal.htm or go to 192.168.100.1 and click on "Signal" on the top. They will look something like:
[3] 64QAM
[3] 64QAM
[3] 64QAM
[3] 64QAM
Also, if you want, post the logs of the DIR-615. They should be available at 192.168.0.1 sign in and then click on Status > Logs. It will look something like this. ::Note:: That is a emulator on a website, so has no connection to your router. Posting it for reference only.

Oh, sorry I misunderstood. I saw "plus cable tv sometime going all at the same time. " and thought you meant TV went out too.

Hello ron12567,
Please bypass the router and plug a device directly up to the modem. If you no longer have issues with the service, then it is probably the router. If not, we will need to investigate further. Please let us know the results.
Thanks,
