My present cable box takes up too much room. What alternatives are there?

Hi Derby,
There are a few different options available. Our receiver dimensions are as followed:
Motorola 6416 DVR/HD - 17.2in W x 12.70in D x 2.76in H (43.23cm x 32.26cm x 7.01cm)
Motorola DCX3400 HD/DVR - 15.0in W x 9.87in D x 3.2in H (38.1cm x 25.07cm x 8.13cm)
Cisco 8642HDC - 15.6 in W x 11.2in D x 3.25in H (39.7cm x 28.5cm x 8.3cm)
Cisco 8742HDC -12.0in W x 9.4in D x 2.9in H (30.4cm x 23.8cm x 7.3cm)
Cisco 9865HDC - 11.69in W x 7.68in D x 2.36in H (29.7cm x 19.5cm x 6.0cm)
There is no way to guarantee you a specific model unless you go into the Solution Store and request to be put on a wait list for when the model comes in.
If you decide to upgrade to a Cisco receiver, you will need to setup a professional install and upgrade to our Contour service. I can set this up for you. Please email me at coxhelp@cox.com.
You can also purchase a separate device that is Cable Card ready (like a Tivo) if their dimensions are more what you looking for. You can swap your receiver for a Cable Card and tuning adapter at the Solution Store.
I hope this helps

True or False: Contour is nothing more than a renamed Trio EPG unless you have the iPad app and the Record 6 DVR (9865HDC.) So an 8642HDC/8742HDC which used to come with Trio at no additional charge now incurs the Contour fee even though they're still exactly the same as they were with Trio. Such a deal...

Domino,
When Whole Home came out, there was initially a charge of $5 for the Plus Pak services. That charge was removed until the Contour Service came out. Who's to say if this charge will stay?

Well Omaha least is charging a $15 Record 6 DVR fee and $10 Contour Service fee.

But isn't charging for HD programming when the customer already gets the SD version contrary to Cox's marketing claims?

Thanks to everyone for your help. What I had in mind is clearly not available. I would like something like Apple TV or smaller. I am certain it is technical feasible, but not available.
