Are you serious!!!

From the cox web notification  "Customers who have and DO NOT actively use a cox.net email account (username@cox.net). While their cox.net email account is impacted as described, they will not see any direct impact, as they do not use their account."

What PR genius drafted this?  It's better if you dont use us!  Go away!  Get G-mail.  We just want to charge you for the wire to your house.  Service?  Whe needs that, we have the wire.

OK folks, better get a new PR department that knows what your customers do.  This is not about sending christmas cards or silly jokes.  It is about notifications from your kids school, from your church, your home business - ***, your small business that does not have a room of servers and a T1...

I will be prepared to file a claim in Tulsa small claims court for loss of service and pro-rated fees.  Better to get ahead of the curve and just credit our accounts.  The arguement that we still had web access, and could open a gmail account so we did not lose anything is crud.  So I can cancel a contract or service agreement with anybody at any time as long as something similar exists somewhere?  The courts will love ths one....

The credit for 2-3 days of downtime would be maybe $3 to $5 dollars.  Considering the impact with small businesses who use personal accounts, holiday shopping, final exams, I think Cox should credit everyone with a month's charges, and that won't nearly compensate the small business owners, many of whom make a substantial percent of their yearly income during the Christmas season.
