Yahoo Email Transition - Links & Resources
Hi All, We've pulled together a list of the most helpful threads you've posted related to the Cox.net email move to Yahoo. Thanks to our community members for sharing your tips and tricks! Also, just a quick note, not all customers and email accounts are being transitioned at the same time. You will receive emails from Cox in advance to let you know about your email moving to Yahoo. When your email is ready to make the move, you will receive an email from Yahoo with instructions on how to do so. If you have multiple email addresses, each of them will receive their own individual instructions when they are ready to move. On to the Topics! I'm curious if Cox is planning to slash their prices now that they've ditched their email servers and support, leaving their customers to fend off spam and ads like they're starring in their own inbox horror movie. Sure, there's a $1.99 upgrade to Yahoo+ per account, but if you've got multiple accounts, it can add up faster than a caffeinated squirrel on a sugar high. Looks like Cox is winning big time with this move, but what about the rest of us? And no, I don't want a mobile phone. I'm just trying to get my emails without needing a degree in spam warfare!135Views4likes2CommentsYahoo Email Transition Issue #1
Like many others, I Iam not having success with transitioning all my .cox email addresses. One account (not this one) has asked my to put in a new password about 8 times now. What I get when I am able to login at mail.yahoo.com is a blank page With all items in left column displaying redact bars and the main page saying something to the affect of "Transfer all your accounts..." instead of displaying my email. I have called yahoo three times in the last 24 hours, only to be disconnected before a representative picks up or while I am trying (very nicely) to explain my issue to the representative. The shortest off those three calls was 13 minutes, the longest was 28 minutes. Very frustrating to invest that much time and energy just trying to get my issue presented much less resolved. I really do believe Cox should have negotiated a better transition solution with yahoo before dumping this mess on its millions of customers. 😠(I have an unrelated issue with this transition in post Yahoo Email Transition Issue #2)464Views0likes2CommentsYahoo Transition - Multiple Cox Email Addresses
Our family has multiple individual email addresses all under our main account, from back when Cox allowed several email addresses per account. Will the Yahoo transition move ALL of our email accounts, or just the primary owner account? This is important for many customers and hasn't been addressed in any FAQ. I'm concerned because the transition notice is only going to the primary email and no notices are going to any other email addresses on our account. As many of us have just heard the news about COX's intent to give up the email business and transition everything over to YAHOO mail, I am wondering if that means that we will be able to keep our cox email address even if we move to an area that has no COX service and need to switch our ISP to another provider? Previously this could not be done as you needed to be a COX internet subscriber.1.8KViews2likes4Comments
