Why does our internet go out anytime it rains?
Our Cox high-speed internet cuts out every time it rains. Even in a slight drizzle it’ll slow down to the point where I can’t conduct a Zoom meeting, which is a major problem because I work from home and my employer is 2,500 miles away. Needless to say, we can’t stream our TV shows either. Is there a node or hub somewhere near us that’s not properly protected from the elements or something?453Views0likes3CommentsSevere screen pixelation and distorted audio in DVR & live TV
We experienced a combination of the two on HBO. I'm unable to recall the exact channels involved, as HBO had been running marathons of both Game of Thrones and the Harry Potter movies on two of their channels. I might also add that we here in Baton Rouge have had unseasonably cold weather (as in below freezing at night) for the last few evenings with the forecast of more. Could this inclement climate be a contributing factor to the difficulties in Contour's audio and video? Should the situation continue, what other information would you need to diagnose and hopefully remedy this hopefully temporary condition?1KViews0likes1CommentInternet Outages on Hot Afternoons. Poor Signal to Modem?
Hello Everyone, As the summer heat has appeared I have begun to experience connection outages later in the day, especially when it is very hot. These outages can last from 10 minutes to over 3 hours. I have had a technician visit my apartment to verify that my modem as well as the cable coming from my wall are all functioning correctly. As an outage was not occurring while the tech was here nothing was solved. I have come to the conclusion that a poor signal quality my be to blame for my issue and I have attached a screenshot of my modem's signal diagnostics page. These are from this afternoon and reflect the levels that I usually get. I am fairly certain that the power levels shown are outside of the acceptable range and that this my be the cause of my problem. I unfortunately have no idea how to fix this. I was told by the tech that visited my home that all of the cable in the walls is suitable and that there is no problem with my modem. Is the signal strength as shown causing my issue? If so what can I do to remedy this problem? How can the quality of the signal be improved? The constant afternoon outages make it very difficult to work on any of my projects so I am desperate for a fix. Thank you for your help.4KViews0likes5Comments
