Network Upgrade Email
I also have received an email just like others did. I have looked through forums, reddit and every place else and still can't get a definite answer. Is it a Fiber upgrade? What type of upgrade is it to where they need to let me know a week in advance? I currently pay for 10 Upload and the most I can get in my apartment (area) is 40 Upload with the 1 GIG plan. The email is very vague and doesn't say anything about Fiber or (Node splits). I also haven't seen any trucks out by my place partly because I don't get home until someone after 5:30PM and I don't know if they would be working after that time. Can someone please fill me in with what this network upgrade includes?62Views0likes1CommentCox Communications Email Scam
I recently received an email from cox referencing their updated Ultimate Plan. Presented with option 1, keeping my current tier 300mb down 30mb up at my current rate but I have to update my modem. Okay. Option 2, 500mb dowload speed 10mb at my current rate as well but i still have to upgrade modem. Okay. Clicked on cox link of approved modems and purchased one. Upon calling cox decide option one or two and to activate my new modem. The rep tells me my bill is going up $15 with my free upgrade? Its bad enough cox lost the RSN sport networks, if internet goes too im afraid my 15 years+ with cox is over. Very dissapointed in Cox Communications Marketing & Sales customer service.5.6KViews0likes13CommentsBeware of false advertising on website “upgrades”
Beware of the “upgrade for 50 cents LESS than your current plan” on Cox Upgrade page. Cox is a scam artist. Upgraded for the website price... told me it was actually going to be $20 more than the “50 cents less than your current plan”... like it states on THEIR website... even with the “all-in” pricing - which is a total scam by the way, says it includes equipment and surcharges.. it doesn’t. What Cox is doing is called false advertising, this will be reported to the BBB.687Views0likes2Comments(Update) Bought a Router/Modem on bad tech suggestion. Should I use new router/modem and replace a Netgear C3700?
I bought a TP-Link AC1750 (Archer A7) and a Netgear CM 600 from bad advice from COX tech support(thread here).Chat support suggested my C3700 was at its end of life and needed to be replaced. The problem was my wiring. After getting techs here to address my bad wiring, my signal improved and my WIFI (and signal) is now rock solid. Question: Is there a reason I should keepthe newTP-Link AC1750 (Archer A7) and a Netgear CM 600 to replace my old Netgear C3700? Is the 8x4 a concern? Another concern I have regarding replacing my old equipment is, when I check my logs, I see [DoS attack: Teardrop or derivative] ..... [DoS attack: Ping Of Death] from .... [DoS attack: Illegal Fragments] from .... [DoS attack: Teardrop or derivative] from .... Apparently, this is a common problem [1][2][3][4]. I am unclear if these are false positives or a reason to swap out this modem combo.511Views0likes0Comments
