Phone Call From Unknown Caller ID With Loud Harassing Alarm Sound - Is Cox Telephone High-jacked?
I am getting an increasing number of these malicious calls that seem to high-jack my Cox Telephone service. I am subjected to a very loud harassing alarm sound throughout my house from my answering machine and my three hand sets. This must be an FCC violation. Unwanted calls, robo calls, etc
I have been reading many comments from people who are co thmplaining about unwanted calls and how to stop them. Many people are registered with the DNS (myself included) and this is not working for anyone. There is a really easy solution which I am surprised nobody has even mentioned. My phone announces whomever is calling by voice, caller ID, etc. If it is someone I know I can answer it. If it is someone that I do not recognize but when they start to leave a message and I do want to talk to this person then again I answer it. In this way I am not talking to sales persons or scammers. END OF THE PROBLEM. A very easy solution to a never ending problem. I always have said that if someone wants to talk to me they will leave me a message and if not then just hang up like to many of these callers always do anyway. my "new" phone number recycled too fast?
I just joined Cox this past Friday and have a landline through them now. i received at least 10 calls a day for other people who have had this number! I googled the number and sure enough 2 female names come up as owning the number, in the same city as I. I have tried to tell these bill collectors and offices that they do not live here, it is a new number for me...but no one listens!! I thought they had to wait years to recycle a number? NO ONE has my new number yet except myself and my parents yet it rings and rings for others. what can i do about this? I also get recorded messages from Providence City schools in spanish. And another from a company that gives rides to Dr offices confirming the woman's appointment for Monday! So she must have had the number recently and it is still on filr for them to be confirming it for now.3.1KViews0likes1Comment
