Wi-Fi is SO Slow... it is worse than the old Dial Up
We have been with Cox for 10+ years. The service has gotten worse and worse. The modem was replaced 2 weeks ago. We went and bought a new router and that didn't help either. It is obvious that the problem is with COX because of the hundreds of complaints found on the support Forums. Ive had preferred internet since july of last year. Eveything was perfect, i could watch netflix, and my husband could play on his phone without the tv lagging. wifi dis-enables itself
Why does the wifi dis-enable itself when my laptop sleeps? This action of dis-enabling wifi prevents the rest of the household from being able to use wifi. We recently received a new modem for wifi, but every time I come back to the screen after a time away, I see there is no internet access. Then I click the icon for internet access and find wifi is dis-enabled. Can this be prevented? DNS issues, pages not resolving, very slow speeds, however download speeds are fast and responsive.
Ping and Download Speeds are phenomenal, however the unchangable cox dns servers are far from it... considering canceling my modem subscription and buying my own to use OpenDNS. Facebook pages and game servers take extremely long to resolve, yet all my downloads are lightning fast. Using wifi, yet not getting any choke or loss %. Confusing why my service is so sub-par, but still have a feeling it might be the cox dns servers and the fact that I can't choose to use custom ones.2.8KViews0likes2Comments
DPC3825 WiFI Signal Becomes Unstable
I have a Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless Modem. Firmware version dpc3825-v302r125573-131008a-COX Firmware Build Time Oct 8 10:55:58 2013 Every 2-3 weeks my devices tell me the wireless signal is unstable. Resetting the device helps but a few weeks later the wireless signal becomes unstable again. I need the firmware either updated or re-flashed if the build I posted is the latest one. I have the premier plan & I'm only seeing speeds at around 30mbps & less.. & thats currently throughout the whole day which isn't bad but definitely not what I'm paying for taking into account i have several devices going.. i was getting around 100mbps+ about 2 months ago but its dropped simnifically. i honestly don't know if its due to the changes cox is making but its ridiculous.. Why pay for an expensive service and I'm not getting what i pay for..Sounds like a hustle to me.. If its not resolved i will unfortunately be forced to move on to a different internet provider. Its been going on way to long and there seems to be no end to the horrific time I'm facing with this.. & no i don't want to email you guys because i already tried that & all i get was generic answers.. Failing Internet
I would like to point out that I was not being goofy with my profile...I thought I was typing in a forum not creating a profile.... Anyway I am clearly having internet issues. I did an internet test and it shows to be working fine, but it will not work on my phone and I cannot play my games online. I have two game consoles and when we try to play games together the internet drops out. With the phones it shows that we are connected and says we are in our settings but when we try to browse the internet it says we do not have internet. This is what I run on my internet: PS3 (x2) Cell Phones (2-3) Computers (2-3) I do not know if it is my modum/router or my service because it has not always been this way. For the first 6 months my internet was amazing. Now for the past couple months I have not been able to use it like I once did. I pay for the $20 internet plan. Hi, I have recently upgraded my internet connection to the 50mbps package and I noticed a significant increase in speed for a few hours on the first day it updated. It now seems to be very inconsistent and I am getting as low as 3 mbps downloads up to around 18. The uploads seem to be just fine as I've gotten around 18mbps.
