Series Recording Not Available
I called Cox this morning because the option to Record a Series is not available to me on my Contour 1 DVR for Big Brother, Days of Our Lives, or General Hospital among other shows. My parents in a different household have the same issue. On the guide, these shows do not have episode numbers in the episode description. There is just a period where the episode number should be. The person I spoke to on the phone said I had to schedule a technician to come out to check my signals, but I know this isn't an issue at just my house so I'm trying to get Cox to please fix this on their end. I opened a ticket about this last Friday, but there was no status on that ticket in the system. I've seen this question asked on the forum in 2012 and 2014 with respect to Contour DVRs, both times left unresolved, and still the problem persists. I just got my first Cox Contour DVR. Still there seems to be no way to predict an upcoming series conflict, so that priorities can be adjusted. The user is informed only when initially scheduling the series, with respect to then-existing conflicts, and after the fact of a missed recording. Seems insane; can't believe Cox or software developers can't provide this simple functionality, which I have had on every previous DVR I've owned, going back years. How do I set up a series recording on my box?
Hello, I was recently switched over to a Cisco Explorer 8642HDC because my other box was having difficulties. I would like to set up series recordings on this box like my last one, but I have exhausted the menu and there does not seem to be an option for it. I would like to either search for a show or find it in the guide, and ask the box to record every new episode that comes on. Unfortunately I cannot see any such option. It allows me to set up a recording of that show, but not for the series. On the DVR list, there is a series manager, but it only gives the option to modify existing series recordings (of which I have none because I can't figure out how to set them up) and not to set up a new one. There is also no option for it under "edit recording options". Help would be much appreciated. Thanks2.7KViews0likes2Comments
