Red Dead Redemption 2 Online connectivity issues. Open port help?
I called Red Dead Redemption 2's tech support after I stopped being able to connect to the PS4 online game. R2 support said I should call Cox and have them open the below ports to help. If I call Cox, will they actually open these ports for me? I have my firewall set to Low so that no services are restricted. In Advanced options, I have PPTP and UPnP enabled. Is there a way for me to open the ports myself? https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360012932454/Red-Dead-Online-Connection-Troubleshooting-for-PlayStation-4 Check your Open Network Ports PlayStation Network uses the following ports for communication with game servers: Port 465 (TCP) Port 983 (TCP) Port 1935 (TCP) 3478 (TCP) 3479 (TCP) 3480 (TCP) Port 3478 (UDP) Port 3479 (UDP) 10070- 10080 (TCP) We Recommend the following additional ports to be opened for Red Dead Online: Port 6672 (UDP) Port 61455 (UDP) Port 61456 (UDP) Port 61457 (UDP) Port 61458 (UDP) Ports 30211-30217 (TCP)3.6KViews0likes1CommentCox port data throttle question
Multiple people in my house are trying to play the same game. The game needs to communicate over ports: TCP 54992-54994, 55006-55007, 55021-55040 From working at spectrum/charter in the past, I know there is a throttle limit for data when it comes to uncommon ports. I know service reps also have no idea what I am talking about if I were to call them. Most of our "head end" techs were unaware of this as well. My question is, who do customers contact or how do we convey to our ISP that data over certain ports shouldn'tbe throttled when multiple users need to use them?567Views0likes0Comments
