Told Digital Phone was the same as our Analog and it wont go out during outages / storms
On a Friday our analog telephone stopped working and we called Tech support the following Monday. They told us that they would send someone out to "fix" our problem. The tech arrived and told us he was sent here because he needed to upgrade our phone line to digital. We weren't notified by Cox of this service interruption and we were really hesitant as our analog line NEVER went out during a storm. Two weeks later that changed and we didn't have any Emergency Access or regular phone access. Unreal how companies think this will improve service and causes their customers to be in more danger. What happens if a storm like Sandy hits our area...all mobile phones will be out in my area and we will be S.O.L. with this forced Digital service. PHOENIX AREA DIGITAL PHONE OUTAGE?
Does anyone have any information on the phone outage in PHOENIX, ARIZONA? We work from home and use it the land line for conference calls, etc.It's been almost an hour now and I cannot get through to ANY customer service or technical support chat sessions - they all say they are busy and the link is disabled. Nor can I get through by using my cell phone (which is thankfully with another carrier) on ANY customer service support number listed for the phoenix metro area, AZ. After racking up useless minutes on my cell phone sitting on hold for over 20 minutes with an "ESTIMATED WAIT TIME OF 8 MINUTES" per the message, I gave up. phone inoperable
I live in Edmond and though my cox cable and Cox Internet works my cox telephone is inoperable. I tried to call Cox on my cell phone but cell lines are all tied up because of the Moore tornado. I tried re-booting my modem by unplugging the power and re-connecting powerand it did not help. The Power, Downstream, Upstream and Online lights on modem are all green. The Link light is orange and the Battery light is blinking and orange. The Telephone 1 and Telephone 2 lights are not on. I have a Motorola Surfboard Digital Voice Modem. I have the cox supplied old SBV-5220. It seem to disconnect during high traffic/usage times. This problem became a real pain when my speed went from 5mbs to 15mbs. It would be great if cox would update this modem to DOCIS 3 before I terminate my service. The only interest to resolve this has been to charge me for a house call. I would suggest a low cost solution: Send me a new one UPS for self install and a return label for me to send the old one back. Feel free to do the right thing. How do I monitor the duration of my out going calls on my restricted cox digital phone service
The Phone Call Log shows what time, date, who I called but does NOT TELL ME THE DURATION OF THE PHONE CALLS. SINCE I AM RESTRICTED FOR A HALF HOUR OF CALLS A MONTH, I REALLY NEED TO KNOW THE DURATION. I already had problems being overcharged and if I GO OVER THE HALF HOUR LIMIT A MONTH, THEY CHARGE ME .50 A MINUTE. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE CUSTOMER SO THEY CAN PROVE THEY WERE NOT OVER THE LIMIT BECAUSE IT PURPOSELY FAILS TO SHOW YOU THE DURATION OF ALL CALLS GOING OUT. I NEED HELP WITH THIS REALLY BAD. THEN THEY CHARGED ME MORE PHONE USAGE FEES UNDER ANOTHER USAGE FEE, WHICH I AM BEING CHARGED MORE THAN DOUBLE.3.7KViews1like2Comments
