No valid router list on the Cox.con web
Cox are decide increase the cost of my awesome slow and expensive connection. I’m from Europe and I normally pay $30 for a 600/600 line with taxes, without any download limit. i understand we are in a diferent country and I need to pay more of the doble for a horrible 150/10 line with a really low download limit. But the limit for me it’s when Cox increase the cost of my line when I have a permanence agreement with them. And I only can quit the limited router they provide me. I read very carefully the router list in his web and I find a Arris TG1682 in a good price. I won’t have a better service but i will save some money. when I arrive to my home and I put my “new” router the system tell me “it’s not compatible” I review one more time the list and I call to customer service. They tell me this router only works when I rent to them. I spend my time and my money in look the routers and buy one. And COX cannot provide service over the routers they are listed as “compatible” the person attend me tell me only the routers of Netgear can works good. I can be sure Cox it’s not the better company. But in my town, unfortunately, we don’t have option. But... really? They publish a list of routers and it’s not valid?2.7KViews0likes8CommentsI recently cut service because i moved. i logged into pay my final bill and see my service address is in Arizona. I have gotten the complete run around for 10 months. In fact, the only reason I am now able to contact you is because I'm on AT&T Wifi. I want to know if anyone experienced this: 1) I was told that I had a 1 year opt out of HomeLife promotion and OF COURSE I wanted to do that because... 2) I was robbed twice and the video ** so bad the cops said there video is completely worthless 3) and the worst part....Cox would never fix the HomeLife problem interfering with my internet. I have a home business. The install...which they had TWO MONTHS to prepare for, was a sh&t show. The day of our move, we are exhausted. Guy shows up late, can't do the job. Before we know it, we must have had 20 Cox guys crawling our house and 10 trucks down the street - I kid you not. They put HomeLife in the SUCKIEST place possible (THE BASEMENT). They left equipment everywhere and split at 11:00 pm with an unfinished job. When, of course, wifi didn't work and internet sucked, Cox would send out a service guy. He'd say "Oh, not a problem, easy fix.....OH YOU HAVE HOMELIFE...SORRY WE WON'T TOUCH THAT AND HOMELIFE WON'T REINSTALL.) WTF!!! 4) I must've had 10 Cox guys and contractors out. They all said the same thing. 5) So, in order to run my company, I had to turn to Verizon to fix it. I'm having to run my business - on unlimited data from Verizon for almost a year. Folks, that is a $400 bill every month (Verizon + Cox). 6) For months, I begged for help. I asked out of the contract. The price for ending it fluctuated all over. It was the same price at 8 months in as it is now. 7) Then, because I was labeled a pain, I was moved into the "Loyalty Department" Gulag. No one ever gets out of the Loyalty Department. 8) I cannot sneeze without them saying "You must speak to someone in the "Loyalty Department." It is almost impossible to actually speak to someone who works there. 9) And if you do and all you want to do is start the arbitration process or pay to get out of the contract, they will send you on another fishing expedition to get you off the phone. They promise "this will work...just tell the service person this." IT DOESN'T WORK....EVER. 10) The word "Cox" is a dirty word in my house in more ways than one. I break out in hives anytime I know I have to fight for the right thing. But it's not even that. All I want at this point is to get out of this contract and despite what their own contract says, they will not allow me to do this. They even told the next tenants (I bought a new home) that they are not letting me out of the contract. How is this possible? Is Cox not subject to the terms of the contract as well as the customer? 11) I'm drafting my "Demand Letter" for the Cox Legal Department now so that I can say I did it and then, worst times upon worst times, I'll sue in small claims if the courthouse is even accepting electronic filiing. Just curious...has Cox used HomeLife as an excuse to anyone else.2.1KViews0likes1CommentWhy are you faking the data usage monitor information???
I am a Computer Programmer with a BA in Business Information Systems and Seven Microsoft Certifications including MS Professional and MS Specialist as DBA. I use the internet extensively and until the new cap came in, our usage was less than 800 GB a month. Now, I am supposedly going over every month. My wife and I have cut our internet usage in half, yet we still go over and, because of the over charges, last week I changed our wi-fi passwords, loaded the MAC ID of every device in our home and locked the router from allowing any new devices from connecting. We purposely avoided using data on a single day so we have a good bottom level usage with all the cameras and all the computers going. On that day we used (supposedly 11 or so GB) On Thursday, December 28 my wife and I turned off all but one computer and our video cameras, and we left town. Today I get email stating I have used 86% of our data, but we aren't even home! I logged onto the Cox.net website and it shows that we have been using data for the last three days at the same rate as they claimed we was using last month. No one home, one computer and six - three and four year old - surveillance cameras with a 320x280 video over the internet when I log into them remotely through the internet. Their daily data meter shows that we are using just as much data while we are four hundred miles away as we do when we spend all day steaming on two computers at the same time. On Thursday, when we left town, according to the current reading on our daily usage, we had supposedly already used 25 GB, then Friday when we weren't even home, and still aren't and computers are turned off, Router is secured as of the 26th, we supposedly used 30GB of data!!! I am sure they will say that I am using 30 or more today as well even though I am 420 miles from home. So, to me it appears as though Cox is faking the data usage data and I think we need to start a class action law suit against them for fraud.8.3KViews0likes12CommentsFRAUD Man claiming to be agent of IP
Just received a couple of calls from a man trying to get me to provide him with info about my PC (14 September 2016). When I asked what company he worked for he said - in a very thick Asian accent - 24/7. He told me that my computer had been hacked and he was going to help me fix it over the phone. So dumb because I dont use a PC and there is no legitimnate reason that either my IP or my device vendor would attempt to communicate with me over the phone without first attempting to make contact through my device via email. I told him not to bother me and hung up (4:43 pm). He called right back (4:44 pm). I did not answer. The caller ID displayed each time was 844-445-8570.1.2KViews0likes1Commentinternet speed of preferred package & Title II
Good evening, Before I complain to the FCC regarding Cox Cable service, I thought I would do you the courtesy of asking you exactly what internet speed you claim to be providing to me as part of the internet preferred package I am paying for... your speed test fails due to latency errors and DSL Reports speed tests benchmark my service at right about where I recall it has always been, or 9MB/s download and 1.5MB/s upload. 9/1.5 is far far below the 50/5 MB/syou claim to be selling in the Internet Preferred package What are you going to do about that? All, Is anyone else having problems getting refunds for Cox disconnected service? I disconnected my service in July and have called Cox at least half a dozen times trying to get my refund. They have an excuse every time I call, and today I was told that there was nothing they could do and I won't be getting my money back. I am owed over $50. I am about to file a complaint with the BBB and local authorities, as this is certainly illegal. Has anyone else experienced this and actually been able to get their money rightfully refunded?2.2KViews0likes1CommentWill I Ever See My Refund?
I have been a long-time customer and never had an issue until now. Last May, I disconnected my cable service since I'm hardly home anyway and I just use Netflix. They NEVER informed me that I had to return my cable box so when the bill was due at the end of the month, they took $200+ through EasyPay. When I learned about it, I returned my cable box to the Cox store THAT VERY SAME DAY and was promised a refund. What I got was an account credit. I called them again to ask for the refund back to my credit card. I don't want a credit and I pay my bills on time anyway (again, I was on EasyPay). The agent I spoke with said I'll see the refund in my bank account 3-5 business days processing time. This was first week of June. Now we're in July and I've spoken with at least 4 customer service agents already – the refund is still nowhere to be found. They've kept the credit on my account and even took June's bill out of it. I called again on June 17 and the agent said that a check will be mailed to me on June 20. After this phone call, they took out the credit on my Cox account. I was just curious why they didn't just credit it back to the credit card they charged in the first place? I feel like that would've been easier for everyone involved. It's now the 1st of July. I don't think the post office will take THIS long. I called again this morning. The agent Amber was borderline RUDE. She kept telling me they don't send refund checks, only store credits. So I guess all the previous agents were lying to me? Then she backtracks saying it will take 4-5 weeks processing time for the refund check so I should wait a couple more weeks. Again, the agent I spoke to before her said that the check had been mailed on June 20. At this point, I don't know who is telling the truth and who just saying things so I'd get off the phone. Honestly, I just want my money back that Cox shouldn't have charged me to begin with. I think this has gone long enough. Anyone else have a similar experience? How did you guys resolve it?5.4KViews0likes4CommentsDoes Cox ever actually issue a refund, or do they just wait for people to stop asking?
I've been waiting for a refund since June of 2011. I have spoke with customer service many times. They always say that all they can do is pass the message along to the credit department. I'm not allowed to actually talk to the credit department. This makes for a great system for them where they can say they are handling my request, while never actually doing anything or sending me a refund. The first calls were always answered with - oh, we haven't heard back from them. In December, they started a new twist. After numerous phone calls, NOW they are saying that I cashed the check and that I cashed it months ago. I didn't, and it was never received. So, I requested that they send me proof that I cashed the check (simple, right - just show me the check with my signature on it). They said they would do that. This was over a month ago. And, not surprisingly, I have still not received any proof of a check being cashed, or sent. So, I guess my next step is a regulatory agency to complain of fraud and a letter to the BBB complaining about fraud, but figured it was worth one last effort here. Do NOT suggest I call customer service. If you want me to call someone, tell me how I can actually talk to someone in the credit department.Solved19KViews0likes8CommentsImpossible to Change Primary Account Holder to Bill Payer - Now No Refund?
I've been a perfect cox customer since 2005 when my husband and I bought our first home. I have never missed a $225+ payment . . . or even been late. When I set up bill pay with my bank - I tried to get the Cox account in my name as well. This proved to be an impossible feat . . . the only conditions which would allow such a maneuver are the "primary"'s death, disability, or moving away. Period. And no you cannot change the name on the account either . . . not unless you fit into one of these scenarios: Marriage - You may change your last name or middle initial, if applicable. (Marriage license required) Divorce - You may change your last name or middle initial, if applicable. (Divorce decree required) Legal name change (Court order required) Misspelling (Government-issued photo ID required) So, even though I was responsible for the account, and my husband was not, I'd have to settle for being a "user" , having very limited priveleges. This sure seems absurd, but what can you do? Nothing - according to Cox. Six years later, my husband is long gone (I heard he is homeless) and the bank now owns my house. Sad . . . I know. (For me and the thousands of others in my boat). I can deal with these things 'tho. What has actually made me lose my faith is Cox and their unbelievable inflexible "policies". Since Cox is prepaid by a month, when I close my account, there is a $200 credit. Great, right? NOT!!!!!!! Cox will not give me a refund. According to their scripted robot reps: "They will only process a refund in the primary account holders name . . . ONLY . . . and they will only mail the check to the last address on record. How nice of you Cox. You want to send my hard earned money to someone who did not pay you, and who does not have an address. I have tried every which way but loose and all to no avail. The absurdity is beyond belief.18KViews0likes5Comments
