Spoke to a customer service rep
And she completely misrepresented the bundle saying I got the EXACT same channels. Total bald faced lie! Lost all of my movie channels which I specifically asked about and was told they were included in the "upgrade". Totally immoral sales practices and the only good thing that happened was that my original problem was solved.1.1KViews0likes1CommentDNS resolution fails and connection drops every 10 minutes
Seriously, this is a pain. I had a tech out to troubleshoot errors, and they removed a splitter. He told me I should upgrade my Motorola Surfboard, to their WIFI ARRIS router. I went to the local store and rented one and came home, installed it. I have a 300/30 Ultimate account, and it is worthless now. EVERY 10 minutes the router drops the connection and I get DNS resolution failed. I cannot complete anything. This did not happen with my Motorola, it never dropped the connection. I've tried different resolvers to no avail. I've seen this issue reported for a couple years now off and on, still with no solution. I need this fixed, uploads timeout, downloads and games need reconnection....1.5KViews0likes1CommentSMTP Server fails to connect with iPhone LTE or 3G
My iPhone completely stopped sending email, using Cox smtp server. Receiving email works fine as usual. I've been with Cox for over 15 years. I've had iPhones since the day they came out. About 10 days ago, sending email from the iPhone 5S completely stopped. I called, and was told I needed to change my password. Why? Who knows. So I did that. No good. I deleted the entire email account from the iPhone, set it up again. No good. Nothing had changed on my end. I don't, and haven't needed to adjust settings for email in a few years. But it won't send. And at this point, Cox SMTP will not send through LTE or 3G. I called again. Explained the situation. When I am at home, and my iPhone is on the WiFi router, it would send just fine. If I turn off WiFi, or if I am 100 miles away from any WiFi network, and running on LTE or 3G, smtp FAILS. Period. That is the problem. I couldn't make the Cox Tech understand this. All she kept saying was I need to have WiFi on. I always have WiFi on. But I am not always connected to a WiFi network. When I walk into my house, the iPhone auto connects to WiFi at home. I drive a truck all over this country. I have always been able to send email through Cox smtp on LTE or 3G. Not any more. The tech was obviously lost. No clue what she was talking about. I am not a computer dummy. I have web sites, and run my own servers. I don't use Windows at all on my PC. I use Linux. My servers have email, services including web mail. My fix........... STOP playing around with unknowledgeable people that call themselves TECH's at Cox and use my own SMTP Service on my server. PROBLEM SOLVED. Once I get all of my email addresses changed over to my own domain , I'll stop using Cox email all together. To log into web mail, with the iPhone is almost impossible. Safari continues to give me an error, "Too Many Redirects. Destination Unreachable". Cox email, in general, is not worth the hassle. And sadly, email isn't rocket science. Now, to throw in another unique problem..... My account only lists 1 email account. 6 to 10 months ago, maybe longer..... I had 3 email accounts under my Cox account. 2 were used by my daughter. She has her own server now, so a few months ago, I deleted both of her email accounts from my account. And you know what...... BOTH of those 2 email accounts are still available and working, even though they are not even listed in my account...............anywhere. They do not show up in my Cox account. The passwords for those 2 email accounts can't even be changed. But they work, sending and receiving. You have some real email issues Cox, and that's probably why you have phishing and hacking problems.8.1KViews0likes23CommentsInternet billing broken
I am supremely satisfied with my Cox Internet service, which I have had for over a decade. During that time I've had auto bill pay configured, and this has worked without a flaw until April. For some reason, it broke in April. I got a notice that the bill was not paid, and a $25 charge was added to my account for "returned payment". Since then I have spent countless hours on the phone, on Internet chat, and via Facebook and Twitter trying to do nothing more than get my bill paid. I'm now on month 2 of this problem. The internet tool will not pay my bill, I get "system error" with "try again later" almost every time. Nobody seems to be able to assist. Even when the tool seems to accept the payment as submitted, it's never billed, and I never get credit. Who can I contact to get this resolved? Your phone support people can't help me, they just want to take money for the current bill and charge me an extra $10 for the privilege. I need someone who can *fix the problem* so I can get my auto-bill-pay working again and get this stupid $25 charge off my account. I need to talk to someone who knows what they're doing.4.7KViews0likes10CommentsIntermittent Connect. Drops and Lag.
So I've been having some connection issues since early April whenever I started the Cox HSI service. The connection intermittently drops out. Sometimes the modem restarts (I'm on my third modem). I believe the upstream is having problems because it seems to only happen whil either playing xbox, which requires sending information back and forth constantly, or doing something of a similiar nature on any other device such as uploading videos or other information on my computer or phone. My connection is going through the Cisco DPQ-3212 into an ASUS RT-N56U. The problem persists even while connected directly to the modem, xbox and computer. I have had 6 Techs come out so far, the next one is coming out this Sunday. All but one of the Techs said that there is nothing that they could do in regards to the connection drop out and advised that a maintenance team would have to come out and replace the line, which has still yet to be done. Is this the problem? Should the line be replaced and all be fine? Or is there another issue outlined somewhere? I'll upload some modem specs later on. If any other information is needed just let me know. Also, I have searched and searched for answers on forums including dslreports and can not find any resolve.11KViews0likes4Comments
