Can the "ENTER NETWORK PASSWORD" issue please be resolved?
I am beyond fed up with this issue. I have already called tech support twice in the past few months, and they were not able to do anything beyond instructing me to change my passwords for all my cox accounts --which I did, repeatedly, to no effect. It is absolutely impossible to keep working with these pop-up "Enter network password" windows coming up every two minutes (I need to keep my email constantly checked when I am at the PC). My passwords have all been correctly reset on all my devices, and this happens all the time, with ALL my devices (iPad, iPhone, PC). So it IS a cox issue, not a device-related issue. I have had cox for the last 12 years at my current address, and this has been happening for over 6 months now. And it's been getting worse. And I don't feel that the issue is being properly addressed --did cox find out what they were doing right before, when this issue wasn't happening? Anyway, if this isn't resolved soon, I will, sadly, seriously consider moving on to a different Internet service provider. I am paying $60/mo to spend most of my time clicking on these annoying pop-ups... I'm using a MacBook running OS X 10.10.5 and an iPhone 5S running iOS 9.3.2. On both the laptop and the phone my email keeps dropping out. I start getting the message "cannot send mail The username or password for smtp is incorrect" and no amount of password resetting, account deleting or other recommended trouble shooting techniques work. After using Microsoft Outlook and also my iphone for many years I can no longer access my email from anywhere but cox webmail. It was all working fine until a couple of days ago and now all of a sudden it keeps popping up that I have a invalid username or password. Both have been verified multiple times and even use it to log into web mail with not problems. We have total deleted accts and reinstalled on Microsoft outlook, iphone email and even the Microsoft app for iphone and all come up with the same problem. I have called cox tech support with no solutions and have even set in a tech support email with NO RESPONSE...... Every few weeks when my computer is just sitting there I get an error message "Mail Can't connect to the account" and "Enter the password". The password is already filled in (and replaced with stars). Clicking "enter" doesn't usually help. Later the problem goes away. I think the MAC is checking the POP mail server every few minutes like it is supposed to, and the COX POP mail server is rejecting the connection. Since the problem goes away without my changing anything, I think the POP mail server is having intermittent problems verifying my userid/password. I have seen similar problems on other systems at work, and it turned out to be intermittent problems with the POP server contacting the centralized server containing the database of userid/passwords.
