'Access point temporarily full' on 2.4GHz
I'm having exactly the same problem as described in this post:https://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/internet-forum/27687/access-point-temporarily-full-on-2-4ghz-is-there-a-limit-of-connected-devices/108616 Unfortunately, that post has been 'locked' (what's the point of that?!) and no solution has been posted. I have numerous smarthome devices, a good 40 of them, connected to my 2.4GHz wifi network, but there's always at least one that can't connect. When I try to connect my phone, it says 'Access point temporarily full'. I had pretty much the same set of lights, thermostats, fans and switches at the previous place I lived, and that had no problem. Research shows that wifi networks normally support up to 256 connections at once, and I have nowhere near that number of devices. But my Cox Panoramic access point seems to have some kind of limit, and I can't find a setting to change it. I can connect my phone to the 5GHz network, but not the smart devices; they just don't do that, which is why I turned on a separate 2.4GHz network, as much as the Cox app urged me not to. Any ideas how to fix this? Some 'advanced' setting hidden somewhere? The Cox app is generally pretty convenient, but it's frustrating the way some settings are so convoluted, probably in a misguided effort to dumb it down.3.1KViews0likes4CommentsWORSE CHAT SUPPORT EVER
Issues and concerns not addressed. Empathy or concessions was not provided nor was any ownership taken. The worst experience i have is always with cox and chat support. Horrible. I had moved service 4 months ago. Since then i have contacted cox on numerous occasions about the lies and broken promises via chat and service issues. No one in the chat department cares or even attempts to help besides "i can troubleshoot" The tech who installed my service lied about everything possible. I requested my home to be rewired, told with panoramic its not.needed and its the best offered..lies...lies..I have the ultimate package. Which recommended amount of devices 7-9. With this "upgrade" the tech provided 6 of the 7-9 slots are taken by cox devices. That is more than 50%! If the tect was honest and wanted to have a satisfied customer, he would have not suggested this knowing how many devices i have I work from home and every moment i spend rebooting, troubleshooting and contacting cox cost me money and it is now affecting my livelihood and my children.Solved3.6KViews0likes6CommentsCompatible box/cable card and splitter questions
I want to purchase my own box. Right now all I do is watch TV or watch streaming stuff on the my smart TV. My bill is too expensive and I need reduce expenses. I currently have a rental Cisco Explorer 4642HDC and a Samsung Smart TV. Here are my questions, 1.) Could I purchase the same box? I see them for sale. What do I need to do to get it to work. I know I have to rent a cable card but what else? Do I need a tuner. 2.) I looked at this solution from bryaninphx " There is a fairly inexpensive alternative if all you need is an HD Set-top-box tuner. There are no associated monthly Guide fees. Samsung GX-SM530CF Cable Box and Streaming Media Player with Built-In Wi-Fi www.amazon.com/Samsung-GX-SM530CF-Streaming-Player-Built-In/dp/B00EYO241Q/ You would need to rent a CableCARD from Cox for $2/mo and you get the Tuning Adapter for free. http://ww2.cox.com/residential/support/tv/article.cox?articleId=b8889a60-d706-11df-66a2-000000000000 i like this solution and have thought about previously. Since I already have a splitter that my cable from the wall feeds into internet, on one side and for for cable on the other - . how do I get the above solution to work. My last option, which I do not want to do yet, is to get rid of cable completely and just keep the internet and use Roku and Sling. I happen to have an unlimited cell data grandfathered plan and can stream to my hearts content. I have already cut the landline cord a few years and I may be more ready than I thought but I do like having cable so if I could reduce my expenses a but I could keep it. Thanks for any help4.2KViews0likes6Comments
