Contour 2 Cloud DVR Playback
We upgraded to a Contour 2 system with three boxes just over a year ago. We've had ongoing issues, but in the last couple of month, the issues have worsened. Trying to playback recorded programs is a master class in frustration. We have picture freezes, sound dropouts, or both. More recently, we simply get an error message popping up right in the middle of the program and it crashes out. A technician has come out and said there are issues upstream of the pedestal out in the yard that they were supposed to come look at. Calling back after nothing has changed results in the operator telling us that what I'm describing is a known issue with the Contour 2 and they're working on it. Looking at the forums, it looks like this has been a known problem for quite some time, although the support operator led us to believe it was a recent issue. So what's the real story? And maybe in the interest of customer satisfaction , Cox could have informed us they know about the issue with our service without wasting our time with service calls? One of the techs put a call on hold saying we were in a gated community when that's not the case. No phone call whatsoever. We were forced to reschedule the tech, even though at the end of the day it turns out there's nothing he can do anyway.1.4KViews1like3CommentsWatch cloud dvr recordings on phone
I am posting to see if there is a way to watch cloud dvr recordings on the go? The majority of programs seem to be in home, however this surely can't be due to licensing issues can it? Multiple live services such as youtube tv, and hulu have this ability.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsCloud dvr on the go.
Multiple live streaming services have the ability to watch cloud dvr recordings on the go, yet cox does not. This cant be a licensing issue as other services have been able to do this, I'm thinking about changing services, as this is going to start being a deal breaker.827Views0likes1CommentRecording in the cloud vs DVR with hard drive
I am relatively new to Contour, and I am at my wits end. Cox set me up to record shows on their cloud server. When I try to watch a show recorded in the cloud, the playback is often interrupted by loss of picture, sound, or both, plus picture freezes. The frequency and severity of the problem varies, but at its worst, it renders the program unwatchable. During these periods, it is also impossible to use FAST FORWARD, as the picture freezes as the time line progresses, making it impossible to know when to stop FF. I have had three service calls, which have included replacing the coax in my house. The technician told me it was not at my end. Live TV does NOT have this problem, nor does ON DEMAND or streaming on Netflix.8.6KViews1like11Comments
