wireless not working
I recently started using Cox high speed internet with a Cisco DPC3825 modem that I am renting from Cox. After the first day of setting up the modem the wifi was no longer being recognized by my laptop (an HP Pavilion dv6-1245dx Entertainment Notebook PC) but some of the lights in the middle of the modem would flash orange. The Ethernet connected internet works fine. How do I fix this problem?6.2KViews0likes5CommentsCisco DCP3825 and the IGMP Proxy setting
I am trying to either enable or disable the Internet Group Membership Protocol (IGMP) Proxy on my Cox firmware'd Cisco DCP3852. According to the modem's help guide, it should be located in the Management tab under Administration. It is not visible. I believe the option is still available, but it has been hidden by the Cox firmware installed on the modem. Has anyone been able to find a way to enable or disable the IGMP Proxy setting? I'd really like to be able to use my wired desktop with my Chromecast. Elsewhere, If I absolutely have to, how would I go about requesting a different model of modem?4.5KViews0likes3Commentshigh speed internet fluctuating bad.
I do gaming online and noticed the performance was lacking. I've done speed tests on Cox website and also other speed tests with similar results. The download and upload speeds were quite erratic. Ranging from 5-40Mbps download and from 0.30-24.0 Mbps upload. Upload is highly abnormal. It shouldn't spike up past 6 or 7Mbps or drop below 3 on a normal connectivity. The graph on Speedtest.net usually looks like a smooth plateau, instead it looks like the Rocky Mountains peaks and valleys. I've reset my modem and restarted my PC and game console numerous times and checked all the coaxial and Ethernet cable connections and all was ok. But still having fluctuation issues. The modem with built in router is relatively new. Just got it earlier this year. Its the Cisco DPC3825. I live in Arkansas. I called support phone # to check if there was maintenance being done in my area, but there wasn't.2.8KViews0likes1Commentcell phone & DPC3825 Router
