HD CABLE RECEIVER BOX
Hello, I have Economy TV channels, a HD TV and a cable box. I want to get rid of the cable box and just connect my TV direct to the Cox cable..I did this, scanned but no channels were there. Does Cox have to re-program or come out to me ? Thanks ~Solved3.2KViews0likes5CommentsChanging cable box
I recently had cox cable installed, I was ready surprised when I saw the cable boxes they installed. They were the ugliest boxes I have ever seen but I honestly could get past the ugly and very old look of the boxes. The problem is that they reboot all the time, some channels never work and channels I don't have appear on my channel list making it confusing to find out which channels I can look at. I have the Scientific Atlanta CSH824H. I've seen that many people have issues with these boxes, I was just wondering if cox does not have any other more updated box? When I log into my account above the model of my cable box appears another box image which is apparently the Cisco 8742HDC. Can Cox provide that box? Hi there, I am moving into a new house where there are currently no coaxial cable jacks. I have spoken to Cox about switching my service and also agreed to pay the $25 fee for a jack to be installed. My question is this: does paying this fee get me an installation where the technician will fish the cable through my wall to do the installation or will he just want to punch a hole through my wall and connect the cable to my modem that way? I don't really mind either installation, just want to know what my options are. I apologize if this question has been asked before... I tried to use the search function and got no results!2.9KViews0likes3Commentsmoving modum to different place in a room
To increase WiFi range I am thinking of moving my modum from one side of the room to the other. This would entail a much longer (20')cable that is run from the current outlet, along wall, to a new location. Is this worth doing? Will a longer cable reduce mps? Does Cox do this as a regular service? thanks5.1KViews0likes4CommentsChanging Connected via Cable to Wifi
When I subscribed to Cox, the installer stated I didn't have to have the cable, as my unit has Wifi. He told me what I would need to do to remove the cable and use the wifi. At that time, I wasn't interested. But now I have some devices that will need to have wifi to tranfer readings to the site. How do I change my Cox home unit from cable to Wifi??2.4KViews0likes3CommentsCertain channels missing on HD
So, I just received my new cable box (with Contour and so on), and I have the Advanced-package, I'd say. It's supposed to show all channels both regular and HD. Somehow I get CNN (channel 49), but no CNN HD (1049), it's missing from the guide and I can't tune into that channel. I'm also missing certain Music Choice-channels, such as (my favorite) Party Favorites (922). It just jumps over them. Very strange, I'd say. Any ideas about what might be going on?6.2KViews0likes6CommentsThird Party Installers
I live at the end of a loooong private private drive (1,100 feet) that is shared amongst a dozen or so different detached single family homes. Our electrical and phone service(AT&T DSL) is brought to us on overhead telephone/electrical poles that sit on private property. None of these neighbors have Cox Cable services. However, every other adjacent street and their respective residence do have access to Cox Cable/Internet services. As stated above, we and most of our neighbors have DSL and AT&T Uverse services are not available in our area. DSL is not sufficient so I got an estimate from Cox customer development team to bring me their cable internet services and the pricing was off the charts! But in fairness to them, they have to factor the costs of dealing with finicky homeowners, legal issues like easements, etc. I have decided to go and find an independent/third party cable installer and run my own line out to the most convenient drop area for Cox. I have been assured by professionals familiar with telecommunications technology and law that this is possible. My question is this: Does anyone have a 3rd party telecommunications company that has experience dealing with Cox Communications in a scenario like this?3.5KViews0likes2CommentsSwitching to a new Tivo Box
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new TiVo Roamio to replace my existing TiVo HD. Would I be able to use my existing tuning adapter and cable card with this new unit and do I need a technician to complete the install? I'm assuming I need to call Cox to inform them on the change in the TiVo. Thanks in advance :)2.3KViews0likes1CommentEAS Code
Every night the box in my bedroom displays 'EAS' which I assume means emergency alert system. When I turn the TV on, the image is black and no sound. Doesn't matter what channel is selected. I can cycle through the cox activity menu and that is about it. If I run a diagnostic all signals are receiving properly. I have power cycled the box already and still get the same issue. Again, this only happens at night, probably sometime after 7p and lasts into early morning. I am at a loss..9.6KViews0likes0CommentsNetflix Throttling
Does Cox throttle connections with Netflix? Over the last few days Netflix can't even go 5 minutes without slowing to a crawl, but other services like Hulu or Amazon Video are fine. Speed tests through the computer are all normal. Essentially everything works fine except for Netflix, though the service works fine on other providers.5.8KViews0likes2Comments
