Tired of unwatchable programs
Tonight I was trying to watch Clerks on 247 NEXTHD. It was not watchable. When it did play it often was in blotchy mode. It even BACKED UP and repeated something from several second ago.. Last week I was trying to watch a World Cup repeat on FS2. You couldn't follow the ball, or the play, because it stopped every few seconds. I've had this service for a couple of years now and this is a new problem.1.4KViews0likes9CommentsI'm in Las Vegas and channel 6 (CW) and channel 12 (MYTV) are not correct.
Cox cable is sending over the wrong channels for CW (6) and MYTV (12) I have called them 2 times and had a tech come to my home. They know nothing about this. All of my neighbors are having the same problem too, so I know it is a Cox cable network problem. Does anyone know anything about this please? This has been going on for about 4 days now. 3 tvs have cable. 2 cable cards (tivo) and 1 mini contour box. All of them are getting the wrong channel. For CW I have a few shows that record, and they actually are correct when it records! BUT in the afternoon if I try to go to CW (6), it shows me Comet channel. So I noticed Cox seems to zoom out or shrink some of the TV stations that they rebroadcasts, like CHARGE! and LAFFNetworks. If I watch them on my TV OTA with HD antenna, the TV shows have the black bars on the sides to emulate the old 4:3 ratio like it should be. But if I switch the TV output to the Contour box and switch to channel 94 (LAFF) or 109 (CHARGE) it will have black bars all around the top, sides, and bottom and the picture zoomed out so it's harder to see. Why does Cox do that? Or do I need to make a change on the Contour settings somewhere so it looks like it's does on the OTA? There have been numerous requests over the span of several years to have OANN added to the Cox channel lineup, One of the most requested channels on this forum. And even so, aside from the ‘robotic’ responses given to every request on this forum for the past several years, Cox ignores these requests and appears content to continue ignoring our requests. It seems Cox Cable feels they are doing well enough that they have no need to satisfy nor to even bother to communicate their intentions to a large number of customers requests. I must admit, given the absolutely horrendous quality and performance of Cox’ “Wall to wall” internet service I would have thought they would attempt to focus more attention on their ‘adequate’ Cable Service. I spent the first 6 years in my current home without Cox services, I decided to give them a chance but I can’t say I am terribly satisfied. I called cox yesterday afternoon because my cable and phone service just came off of a seasonal hold. When i saw that my bill had jumped from $240 to $386 i had enough. I called to cancel the cable and phone service and was going to keep the internet; i stream everything online anyway . The customer support person talked so fast, on top of the fact that i have hearing issues, i could barley understand him and he kept putting me on hold. So; Instead of doing what i had asked to begin with and cancel the phone,which i don't even use anyway, and cable which i don't watch. He put me on hold again and placed both services on another 9 month hold. Come November it they will have been on hold for 18 months and i will be charged for the hold on both services every month. Then when he came back he acted like there was nothing he could do about it because it was already put on the seasonal hold. #1 i said clearly that i couldn't afford $386 because i am on a fixed income. Now when it comes off of seasonal hold again it will probably be even higher. Even if it isn't i still CAN NOT afford that much. I have more priority bills to deal with. #2 Cox reps need to slow down and allow THE CUSTOMERS to talk and what they are politely asking them to do. I do not appreciate being strong armed into keeping something that I AM NOT going to use! I don't know if they are trained to do things this way or what but that is wrong. #3 There needs to be a way that we can manage (cancel,Change) our services through out online accounts. I don't mind paying for cox services because they still beat most other competitors but they need more reasonable prices. Stop the high pressure sales. I would consider keeping the cable and Internet if they worked with me on the price but i still want to cancel the house phone. I don't even have a physical house phone. Everyone i know uses my cell (Text) and email because of the hearing issues i have. Hello, does anyone know where I can get monthly usage amount totals from Cox bill? I want to see my daily, weekly and monthly usage. Also, drill down and check peak usage times by the hour. Similar to the wireless phone data tracker which shows monthly usage totals. Or, is there a tool available which can provide me similar data collections to get the information I seek. My TV was working great for quite some time and then last week around the 18th my box would start freezing, then the satellite boxes started freezing and then showing an error message and then rebooting the whole system whenever it wants. I have had three techs out. 2 times new boxes were put on, one guy even checked my voltage and said that might be the problem. I have tried other outlets and my other things plugged into the same outlet do not do the same thing. (Modem, phone etc). So I have no idea what to do about this. I am about ready to give up and turn in my boxes. The headache and the price is just not worth it. I even tried plugging my box into a different outlet and it still did the same rebooting dance. I have no idea what is wrong and these techs they send out just put in new boxes, poke around a few places and leave without it working at all!!!!!! Anyone else have this issue?
