Transfer account
I am moving to Texas where I don't plan on having Cox. I want to transfer the account I have in my name to my roommate (we share it anyway), however, I don't have a phone. How can I get this done? Or shall I just cancel the account and let him start a new one? I don't want him to have to pay that start-up cost when it's already working.10KViews0likes3CommentsRefund Request from cox. For those who overpaid on their cox bill and got confused.
Advice from paralegal! Record your phone conversations when you start talking with the phone rep. Be nice, and ask politely for them to issue the base amount that you overpaid. Basically what happen to me, is that the first time I called and wanted to record my conversation with them she said no I can't. Actually, cox, if you start to record conversations the customer has the right to record. They said they will issue me a check for $117.86 that takes about three weeks. October 5th is when I am expecting it to arrive. If they don't issue you a check. You can take them to small claims for for money damages awarded in your favor. Customers have rights too!10KViews0likes7Comments"Thanks for updating your credit card information... Now we will charge you a $50 fee"
My credit card company issued me a new credit card due to some type of security breach. It's a pain to have to update all of your recurring credit card payments, but Cox made this particularly painful. They sent me a note that my credit card had failed on 7/3 and I provided them with the updated credit card information on 7/4. I got a note on 7/5 that the updated credit card information worked and the payment processed.... Then I just got a letter saying that they were going to charge me $50 for a "returned payment fee". I checked my bill online and sure enough, they charged me. My netflix subscription didn't do that. My HuluPlus subscription didn't do that. In fact, not one of the other recurring charges that appeared on my credit card charged me anything other then the normal recurring payment. It's incredibly poor service. I thought Cox had diferentiated themselves from Verizon by having better service & no crazy hidden fees. Has this happened to anyone else?8.6KViews0likes2CommentsCox speed vs competition vs cost
I am starting to get concerned. I have always paid top dollar for Cox because they did what it could to stay ahead of the competition. However, now even my cell phone moves quicker than cox at less than half the cost. Cox: $65/month for 20mbit/s and a 2mbit/s upload AT&T: $30/month for 30+mbit/s (depending on where I am) and 11+mbit/s upload on average Almost everything you do now relies on your upload speed just as much as your download. Gaming, video phone calls and the sort. Just about everything has video now for chat....computers, tablets, gaming systems and now even my TV has a camera in it if I wanted to skype someone. I make a skype call on my phone to another phone...great streaming video. I make a skype call from my phone to any of my PC's on cox....or PC to PC on cox.....delay, lag, jittery image coming from the other party (while my image streams great if from my phone). So let's look at upload.....$65 for 2....or $30 for 11+. Cox has not only fallen behind, but they have been smoked (and by wireless networks of all things........a giant fiber-backed network....smoked by cell towers) What happened?6.1KViews0likes11CommentsPaying for premier services getting dial up speed
I there a reason I have been getting below 10 download and over 40 upload speed? This mainly happens at night. But if I am paying over a 260.00 cable bill I should get what I pay for. I have been with Cox for over 13 years..... The service guys have been out to my house 5 or 6 times already and still this issue is not fixed...4.7KViews0likes10CommentsWhat is the Home Networking Gateway Equipment Fee?

I have this weird message when i try to pay my bill online (using the web/app). It said that "We are unable to process your payment online. Please contact a Customer Care representative to make your payment". Anybody knows whats going on before i have to make the call to cox support (don't really really want to do this)? My bill is all current. Should I try different day or maybe their online payment server is down? Much appreciated3.7KViews0likes0CommentsWeb promotions
I recently signed up for cox internet (as of the very end of may) and the promotion forPreferredwas (if I recall correctly) 29.99 for the first six months and then the 52.99 for the rest of the year. It was also stated that if a new account was created (as this is my first time ever using cox in general) and that account was created online then it would be reduced to 23/mo for the first 6 months. My first bill is 29.99 and I recently spoke to 2 representatives over the phone who claim to have never even heard of this promotion (and the website has a different promotion going on now). I want to verify that I am not crazy and that I will be provided these benefits. I would rather not have a sour first time experience with cox.3KViews0likes1CommentCharged Twice for same crappy service - That too on the .FIRST BILL
Hey Guys, I want to know, How many have you been ripped off by COX like I did. I just got my first bill and I see , have been charged again for the past month where as I have already paid it in advance. Now when I call the customer care they see no payments and they are rude to the core. I have been around the US , I haven't seen any a customer service like this. There is no separate departmental help either. I am getting totally crazy on this kind of support , I cant understand. How cant they have no info about my payments when I have been already charged.2.8KViews0likes1Comment
