COX Contour and TV Connect Apps for Windows 10
Hi, will there be an app developed for Windows Phone 10devices in the near future? I'm assume so, since Microsoft have an universal app development framework now... Cox can develop one code base that can work across all windows 10devices. If Cox management, chief software engineer, and lead software architects haven't made a decision to go on this; maybe the business need to hire replacements.. My whole household have moved away from iOS and Android devices; and replaced all with windows 10 devices; no plans to go back...25KViews0likes4Comments
Is it possible to cast the contour app?
I have recently recieved service for cox and they offered basic cable at a minimal price so I accepted but in order to keep cost low I opted to go app only option. I believe from what I'm seeing it's impossible to watch this live tv on a smart cast tv because the apps do not download onto the actual tv, instead they download on to a device and you have to cast them to the tv. Am I correct in assuming I'm am out of luck because the cox contour app does not support casting.23KViews0likes2Comments
Apps with the ability to remotely change set top box channels?
I understand this capability does not currently exist (under neither Contour nor TV connect), but I am wondering what the time line is for an app to have the ability to change the currently showing program on a homeset top box. When looking through the Connect literature, it referenced this ability as "coming soon". Naturally other providers (such as DirecTV) have included this simple ability in their apps for quite a long time. Any idea?19KViews0likes6Comments
App for a remote control
Hi Forum, How is one able to use the Cox app for the remote control on their phone, and have it control my tv? A friend was over to my house, my remote wasn't working, I stepped out of the room for a few minutes, when I came back he was using his android phone as a remote controller to change the channels on my tv! He said it is a Cox app. that allows him to do so. I asked him if he could also tell what programs we had been watching. He said No, but I felt like he tapped my tv. Issues with the Cox Drag & Drop Backup App and the Cox Cloud Drive App
I am having two (2) issues with the Cox Cloud Drive: # 1 - I can logon to https://drive.cox.com/ with my primary email account user name (name that is to the left of the @ sign) and password. However, if I try to use the stand alone Cox Cloud Drive backup software, which worked previously, when I logon with that same User ID and Password, I now receive this message: Large Red X followed by "Please enter a valid user name and password". I am 100% certain that I am using a correct user name and password. # 2 - The Cox Drag and Drop Backup has also stopped working. When I open this program, I get this message: "Could not list children '/' User Security Access Exception". I tried to correct this issue by doing the following: (1) I uninstalled and reinstalled this program, (2) I looked at all of my files on the Cox Cloud by opening a Chrome browser window to https://drive.cox.com/ and going through the Online Files Directory and all of the sub-directories which I had set up. I did not see any fragments of files or directories. I did delete a directory called Children of the Revolution, a band, which contained performance photos of the group. However, I still get the same message every time I open Cox Drag and File Backup: "Could not list children '/' User Security Access Exception". About three weeks ago I began to have trouble sending email using my Android app on my Samsung tablet. It had been working perfectly for over 1.5 years and nothing has changed. I did a chat session with Cox Tech help and they told me the problem might be resolved in five or six hours. It had been going on for 3 days at that point and issue is still not resolved. Anyone else seeing the problem or have any suggestions to solve? I have found that by changing the TLS settings, saving, exiting the app going back into the app and editing the email still in the Outbox, that about half the time it will be sent. Chromecast
My Google Chromecast says i was not able to discover chromecast on my network but it recognizes it. The app says it may require a small change to my Wi-Fi settings including possiblyDisable Access Point/AP isolation orEnable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) also known as Multicast on your router. I don't see an IP address on the router and don't know how to change my settings. Chromecast works at my moms house on this computer but not with this cox router. I am unable to use the Watch TNT app on my phone. Specifically, I am unable to log in. I have verified that my userid and password allow me to login at the cox site. I only have one id. I did notice that when I click the sign in button in the Watch TNT app, the app automatically adds "@cox." To the end of my userid. I am assuming that it is trying to add "@cox.net" and I am simply not seeing the last few letters. However, I don't add those letters when I log into the cox website.4.7KViews0likes3Comments
