VPN with or without DDNS
I am preparing to open ports on a router ( ( LUXUL ) for HTML access for a homeowners automation system. In the past COX has warned our clients that these ports need to be closed or service could be suspended. Cox has also shut down DDNS access from a remote location through their modems. Can you please advise the accepted way for my clients to access their home systems remotely.? These included CCTV , HVAC, Lighting etc. Some system use DDNS servers to track WAN IP changes and some do not. Also, I'd like to set a VPN so I can maintain these systems remotely. Can this be done? Up until the last year or so we did this on a regular basis, it's only since COX started offering these same services , have I noticed diffculties. Is there a connection?6.2KViews0likes3CommentsNeed VPN assistance...bouncing back and forth between support departments
I have a wired connection. When I am not on VPN, everything is fine. When I connect to VPN, I get "No Internet Access" and I can no longer access my modem using 192.168.0.1. (I do have internet access even though my Windows 7 shows I don't). Issue started June 22. All of my corporate VPN firewalls are disabled. My VPN support dept asked me to go back to my ISP provider. When I called COX they didn't really even know how to troubleshoot a VPN issue. I don't know who I should escalate this to or what I can troubleshoot for a support department. Looking for assistance please.Solved2.9KViews0likes3CommentsConnecting to an employers VPN - error message "Reason 412"
When I attempt to connect to my employers VPN, I time-out and get a dialogue box stating "Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding". I only get this error when connected via Cox Internet. When I use my phone as a personal hot-spot, I connect immediately.2KViews0likes1CommentClosed VPN and other ports
Hi! I'm trying to get my Vivint security system to connect (more specifically to be able to broadcast cameras via wifi) and our VPN will not connect or allow camera broadcasting via wireless so we can view the live stream on our mobile devices. I've had serious issues in the past year with ports and our Cox internet service. My bluehost email account will no longer load via our home internet (will everywhere else) and our old ADT security system would not work with our internet either. It worked at first, and then one day during a connectivity technical support call, it all stopped working immediately after a reset from Cox's end. We've attempted port forwarding, but I'm striking out! Cox technical support has been less than helpful, and we are quite fed up! Has anybody had a similar problem with a positive solution?1.9KViews0likes1CommentIssue w/ SMTP in Thunderbird 45.8.0
I've had issues before with it not saving outgoing mail in Thunderbird, but NEVER in sending. This has appeared over the last 24 hours or so, still works fine in my phone & iMac (both using IMAP and Apple Mail). Now that I'm typing this I realize it might be JUST due to the VPN. I do use it with different end points/cities. But either way it's happening and I need to be able to send e-mails, regardless of what city/country I appear to be sending from. Thanks for your help1.5KViews0likes3Comments
