One phone line with 2 separate numbers
I just switched to COX from another provider. The last company was able to set up one new telephone line with two numbers: a telephone number and for an additional $6.99 a separate (they called it a virtual phone number) number. Distinctive ring not working with Fax
I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium All-in-one and Cox distinctive ring with a second phone number. The Fax does not reliably recognize the distinctive ring. The fax seems to randomlyanswer calls on my primary line. I have tried various settings on the HP (double, triple ring, etc) without success. Cox Tech Support could not tell me what the distinctive ring was (double, triple, long-short, etc). I as well as others in the household are not able to discern the distinctive ring from the ring on our regular line. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.6.6KViews0likes1Comment
Phone line for fax use only not working....
I only signed up for a phone line to be used as a fax line. It worked for the first 4 months (May-Aug 2011), but since then all I receive is a fast busy signal and the subsequent blinking light on the modem when the fax is hooked up. I have even changed faxes and modems, and it still does not work. I can hook a regular phone up to the modem, and it will work. However, I don't want a phone line, and I need a fax line. I have talked to customer support 2-3 times concerning this, and I have had a technicians look at it in my home. However, no one can figure it out. I am hooked directly to the modem from the fax, if this helps, and I am very close to dropping my phone line due to not being able to use it for a fax line. Surely someone in tech support can figure out a solution for me, and I would appreciate it if someone has ever encountered this and has any ideas. thanks....8.3KViews0likes2Comments
