Ethernet Ports Disabled? Netgear Cable Gateway CG3000D
Have aNetgear Cable Gateway CG3000D, but none of the 4 ethernet ports work. WiFi is working fine. I’ve reset to default settings but still nothing. Are these ports disabled on purpose? How can I enable? The lights for the ports are just amber... tried a Roku, Smart TV... and still none connecting...1.2KViews0likes1CommentInternet goes out every afternoon at the same time.
I see many people are having this same issue but since I actually signed up to reply, this forum will only let me report abuse (what's with that?) I am seeing several with the same router/gateway, all have been on about 1 to 2 years. Netgear CG 3000d. My Internet goes out every afternoon around 1:30 PM. I can almost set the clock by this but it has been slowly getting later each day (been happening for a couple of months now.) They keep wanting to send someone out but since they can only give me a two hour window of when the might show up, that isn't going to help much. It makes no difference if I go through the entire reboot sequence, it just comes back on by itself, usually about 20 minutes but it was an hour the few week it started happening. I tried turning the modem off, first for a couple of hours, then for a week when I was on a trip. Can anyone give me a good explanation of how/why my modem could be doing this? I have it plugged directly in to the wall, I will try another outlet but that doesn't make any sense either.4.7KViews0likes5CommentsGame rtt and packet loss
I've been having problems across all Blizzard games. I get major rubberbanding and packet loss. My ps4 version of Overwatch runs just fine. It has something to do with a hop somewhere in Dallas. I've tried contacting Blizzard about it and they tried to fixed it, but they said I'll have to contact Cox. Please help me fix this, as Cox has been nothing but terrible the entire time I've been with them. Netgear CG3000D-RG issues: DDNS setup missing! I and a Cox internet customer from Henderson NV and have spent hours on the phone with Cox tech support trying to find a simple answer. I could never get through to anyone who even knows what Dynamic DNS is. Several years ago, I purchased a Netgear CG3000D-RG modem/router direct from Cox truck at installation time. Now, I need to implement DDNS so I can reliablyremotelyaccess my security / HVAC system after an IP address change. I do have a working DDNS service already setup with dyndns.org. I found that the identical router as supplied by Netgear supports DDNS and thefactorymanual clearly shows a DDNS setup function on the advanced menu. However, the router Cox sold me does not have the DDNS menu item listed. It is either not in the firmware or it has somehow been disabled. My Questions: Can Cox remotely enable the DDNS function? Or, Can I get new firmware that does? (I have heard that Cox can push new firmware to the modem) Or, is there a way that Cox can implement the DDNS direct to my dyndns.org account as an alternative" Why would Cox disable this essential feature? I know I can purchaser new hardware, but an extra expense when a simple solution should work. I hope someone can help. regards Bill4.1KViews0likes2CommentsNetgear CG3000D issues
This modem/router has been giving me problems since it was installed a couple of months ago. I believe it was a used router. Is there anybody else out there having issues or had issues with this device? My Wi-Fi drops all the time and I have to reset it. My PC is the one most affected by it. This device model is from 2009, to me it seems a little old, and there are no Firmware updates on the Netgear site or this site. By the way, I'm leasing the router from Cox.4.5KViews0likes11CommentsLittle to no internet access for almost a week
I've basically had no internet access since last Thursday. A few hours on Tuesday, but nothing else. I'm assuming it's a problem with my router, but I'm not sure. My router is a Netgear CG3000D. What I see on the lights on front is, the downstream light blinks then stays solid, then the upstream light blinks then stays solid, then the Internet light blinks quickly for a few seconds before all the lights turn off and the sequence starts again. When the connection has been successful in the past, the sequence is the same except the internet light starts blinking more slowly after a short time, then goes solid, with those three lights staying solid as long as my internet doesn't go down. What I see in the router's event log is an alternating sequence of "no ranging response received" and "unicast ranging received abort response". Is this something that can be fixed remotely or by myself following simple instructions with no risk of damaging rented hardware? Is it a hardware problem that I need to bring it to a Cox Solutions Store to get it fixed or replaced? Is my only option to call a technician to observe my actual setup and find some way to reduce Electromagnetic interference? Those options are arranged in order of preference, but I really need stable internet by next week and I'd prefer to at least have it back to it's previous state of only going down for an hour rather than for days.2KViews0likes1CommentQOS for Netgear CG3000D Make and Model: DN3000D ?
Is there a way to add QOS service to the router/wireless/modem? Netgear CG3000D Make and Model: DN3000D I have Netflix and would like to limit the speed that Netflix downloads in HD. is there a way to add that to my Netgear CG3000D Make and Model: DN3000D? thanks.5.4KViews0likes5CommentsCG3000D Ethernet Ports
The CG3000D works fine with the Internet, in any of the four Ethernet ports, attached to my desktop PC. However, I have a couple of other Ethernet devices I have tried (in all four Ethernet ports, using with more than one Ethernet cable), and all I get is an orange light on the front of the CG3000D for the other two devices. The two devices include a Linksys/Cisco 8 port switch and a Netgear XE104 'homeplug'. These two items worked perfectly with my old cable modem and wireless router when we were on Suddenlink, until we moved and signed up with Cox. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.Solved3.5KViews0likes5CommentsInconsistent/Slow Internet
I currently have Premier Internet Service and have been experiencing intermittent and slow internet (as little as 5 mb/s the last few two to three weeks. My desktop computer is wirelessly connected to the router using a network adapter, which should be able to handle much faster speeds, and has in the past. When I was initially upgraded to Premier service early this month, I was reaching speeds of mid-20's in mb/s, occasionally even low-30's, but now it is rare if I get above 20 and more typically sit around 10. This is measured with both Cox and speedtest.net's services, and you can see an example of the slow/inconsistent speeds here:http://imgur.com/xFobgCO andhttp://imgur.com/2OISM3I . Neither of my roommates were home during these tests, and neither my computer nor my roommates' were downloading anything. The device that is used in my home is a Netgear CG3000D. While my roommates and I understand that, for various reasons, the advertised internet speed is not a reality, we made the decision to pay extra for this internet service because we thought we'd be receiving a realistic speed of at least mid to upper-20's, which we clearly are not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.4.1KViews0likes6CommentsIntermittent Disconnects daily/ Router CG3000D
Hey everyone, For about two months now, I've been getting disconnects that last for 5~10 seconds, randomly throughout the day. I just checked my event log today and lots of errors that are common among these forums. My router is a Netgear CG3000D. My computer is the only desktop using a hardwire. I have a Antronix 2way 5-1000 splitter that i received last year from the Cox tech. I am very well versed in computers, but networking I haven't dipped into at all. I literally have no idea what is going on, but i'm sick of getting disconnects multiple times throughout the day. Any help would be amazing. Thank you, Cody V6.2KViews0likes7Comments
