Why don't you start by providing the model of modem and cable box you have. Re: Upstream packet loss and jitter breakingbad920 / shipracer Is the T-Mobile service you are referring to? https://www.t-mobile.com/isp Re: cox game vpn thing question Cox EliteGamer system is not a VPN service. Your network traffic is not tunneled or encrypted. Cox is reselling a third-party service outside of the Cox network. Only specific game network traffic is proxied to the third-party service where thegame network traffic is tunneled unencrypted to game servers. All your network traffic, including the proxied gaming network traffic, still flows over the Cox network. Unfortunately, I think the only way to answer your question is to try the service itself. Instead of the Cox rebranded service, you couldtry the provider directly. From what I understand, the service being rebranded and resold by Cox is WTFast. Are there any custom security configuration option that limits which devices can connect to the wifi network by the device MAC address? I ask because a new privacy feature of Apple's latest iOS release creates random MAC addresses when connecting to wifi networks. You'll need to turn this iOS privacy feature off if your router is configured to use the MAC addresses security feature to allow clients to connect to the network. Re: Internet Down Cox residential subscriptionsdo not have support service level agreements. If you are going to run a "internet can't be down" business from your home, you should consider a commercial subscriptionwith SLA's (if available) and definitely consider a router which supports cellular fail over. When the main internet service goes down, the router will fail over to the cellular connection. www.peplink.com/.../ Re: Cox wifi app You may have"Android System Webview" app disabled in Settings. Re: Arris TG1682G is hacked bruce It is true ... very, very old ... and still not fixed from what I can tell from Google searches... https://www.tomshardware.com/news/double-backdoor-arris-cable-modems,30620.html There are even open source password generators to aid in exploiting the backdoor. garret3114 I would immediately speak with Cox and exchange that device for something else.... or return it and purchase your own cable modem. Re: Have you tried turning it off and back on again? Perhaps there was something drawing power which added noise to the line(s). When the power went out, whatever it is lost power and shut down. When the power came back up, whatever it is didn't power up; so no noise on the line. Perhaps whatever it is needs to be manually turned on. Because whatever it is remains off, the noise on the line is gone. Re: Where are the live chats? I don't see any or not easily accessible? When I go to the following web page- https://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet.html I see a little "Chat" tab on the left hand side of the page that stays stationary in place even when I scroll. If I click on it, it brings up a little chat window with "Oliver". Re: Cox won't admit email problem ks1 / drichmond Is it safe to assume you both are using Cox email service, i.e. (at) cox.net? Without providing any error messages or bounce back emails, it's impossible to offer help.
