ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Cannot configure any email client I've been dealing with the same problem for months. I can't get ANY email client to send emails. I've tried all the combinations....nothing fixes it. COX has been no help unless you want to pay extra for support. I'm already paying 90/month for internet and they want more to answer the phone when something goes wrong. The only way to send emails is using the COX WEB based email. myemail.cox.net Re: EMAIL Account might be blocked I am NOT using a VPN. I have 4 devices. None of them have anything in the OUTBOX's. Thanks for taking the time to respond. This same thing happened a while back and magically it fixed itself. Re: EMAIL Account might be blocked My understanding was that COX moderated this forum and could help with issues. I did call COX support and they told me I had to pay more per month to even discuss this. Such BS. I am not using a VPN when I send email. I'm a very experienced PC tech and I've been through all the settings. Nothing has changed except when I changed my password after getting : Login to server smtp.cox.net with username (myuserid) failed. Next message : Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.cox.net. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'. EMAIL Account might be blocked The only way I can send email is using COX Webmail....I can receive mail. I use Thunderbird on my PC and Blue Mail on my mobile phone. Can't send from those apps. Even though I changed no settings, I doubled checked and they are fine. This has been going on for a couple weeks. I have two COX email address's and neither can send email. Could someone from COX PLEASE check to see if my account is blocked for some reason. I do not want to put my email userid here but I think support can look it up. Thank you. Re: Outgoing SMTP Cox email For the last week, I am unable to send email on my pc using Thunderbird, on my phone using Blue Mail. I can receive email. When I send using my pc, I get "Login to server smtp.cox.net with username xxxxx failed" The xxxxx is my userid. The password saved is the exact same thing as the SMTP password. I can send/receive email using the myemail.cox.net website. There have been NO changes to my email settings. This same problem happen last year and eventually, magically, the problem disappeared all by itself. Last time this happened, I talked to Cox support and nobody could figure it out. Frustrating. Re: Can't send emails. No changes made on my end. Again..... I brought my laptop to a local library and I could send/receive email. Could you PLEASE check with whoever manages the email servers and see if my IP Address is being blocked from sending? I assume you can get my IP address from your records but if not, please let me know and I will send it to you. Thanks Re: Can't send emails. No changes made on my end. Again..... In my initial post above it should be SMTP server not SNMP server. I forgot to paste the message I get when sending : Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.cox.net. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'. Can't send emails. No changes made on my end. Again..... I can no longer send email from any device...windows or android devices. I use Thunderbird on Windows and BlueMail on Android. I've made no changes to my accounts. I have verified my email settings are up to date and correct. I can get mail on any device but cannot send. This has been going on for the last two days..perhaps longer. Are there any known issues going on with the SNMP server? Last time this happened (5 months ago) the problem was magically resolved. SolvedRe: Can't send emails. No changes made on my end. Like magic, the problem just fixed itself. This has been going on for two days....suddenly it works even though support said there were no SMTP server issues. Thanks anyway. Can't send emails. No changes made on my end. I can no longer send email from any device...windows or android devices. I use Thunderbird on Windows and BlueMail on Android. I've made no changes to my accounts. I have verified my email settings are up to date and correct. I tried calling support but they don't speak English very well and I got nowhere with them. Are there skilled technicians that monitor this forum and might help?
