Plan is now 250/10 with automatic speed increases from Cox on the premier plan. Been that way since 1999 when it was 50. BTW, I never noticed the speed drop in my daily use until I did a speed test just for something to do. Re: Why did my download speed drop from 250 to 150 on June 21, 2022 Solved. I had turned off NAT Boost in my router so I could log traffic statistics. Apparently that slows down everything going through the router. Turned traffic statistics off and NAT Boost back on and I am back. Thanks to Cox Support via email, for guiding me in figuring this out. Why did my download speed drop from 250 to 150 on June 21, 2022 Midwest City, OK, 73110. Why did my download speed drop from 250 to 150 on June 21, 2022? SolvedRe: 1 Ring Hang-up Calls Me too. Midwest City, OK. I subscribe to NOMOROBO and understand that 1 ring means that NOMOROBO intercepted the call. But I have a number of daily calls that appear on Caller ID, usually as just a town name, that ring multiple times. When answered there is nobody there. I would estimate that one in ten calls answered is actually someone calling. I do wonder how many people call and have their call intercepted? Re: Access to SMTP outgoing server while traveling WITHIN the US Simple solution. Get a Gmail email address and forward your Cox email address to it. Then send/receive from the Gmail email address. Cox is weaseling its way out of the email business as evidenced by no email for new Cox customers and subbing out Cox email service to a 3rd party. Cox would rather you take your email elsewhere and it shows by the way they handle it. Re: 50% faster speeds free???? Midwest City, OK. It worked! 163 to 292.37. 0827 3/16/22 Re: DVR Problems Cox admitted it was beyond their control as they receive the programming from the originator and just pass it on. My DVR's are exactly on time as the NIST broadcast (nist.gov). That is why I gave up arguing with Cox and just added two minutes to each recording. I have never had a space crunch but I do not save stuff after I have watched it. Re: DVR Problems Had the same problem across many channels. Finally added two minutes to the end of every recording and it worked like a champ. Re: The DVR keeps cutting off at the end of the shows. Same problem here. See below thread and Cox response that they cannot do anything about it. I am so sorry that this is happening. You are correct and we just retransmit what is given to us. I apologize that we have no to fix this. The OnDemand content does have these limitations placed on it. It would be great if we could fast forward through the commercials. Thanks, Lisa H Cox Social Media Specialist I have two DVR’s, 8642 &9865. The clocks on both are identical and are correct with time.gov. Both DVR’s do the same thing. Padding the timing would be a problem as there are a few nights/week when I am recording on all 8 channels and it would cause non-recording due to time conflict. It is my understanding that Cox just retransmits a program from its source so the cause of this problem is where it originates. This may be being done on purpose by the originator to make the use of the DVR problematic. What is really wrong is that you cannot Fast Forward On Demand to quickly get to the program end to see what you missed. BTW, both DVR’s are rebooted at least once/week. I know just how frustrating this can be and I want to help. I suggest checking all the connections to make sure they are all tight and then restarting the cable box by unplugging the power cord for about 1-2 minutes then plug it back in and allow time for the cable box to reset (it can take 15-30 minutes for a full reset). I have found it useful to manually pad the timing for the recordings 2-3 minutes ahead and 2-3 minutes later (adjust as needed). This allows some room for timing issues. Please give it a try and record something just for testing purposes. Please let us know the results. Thank you for reaching out to us for assistance, we are here 24/7. Mike J.
