Due to out of country travel plans over next month, it is impossible to deal with all the steps necessary for a successful transition. The easiest would seem to allow a Cox customer to postpone for a month etc. Or consider asking customer to accept or defer in an email when it gets close. It's impossible for me to believe all of the "stories" posted here can be resolved if traveling in Europe or Spain, etc. Do we get toll-free telephone customer/tech support from all over the world to resolve issues? PLEASE help! Re: Help! I already have had a Yahoo account for years. I don't know if it transitioned or not. I changed password on iPhone and was able to send emails, but when I just now tried sending email from iPhone with new changed password it said "Cannot send Mail. The connection to the outgoing server smtp.cox.net failed. ... "NO space left on device" What does that mean? Re: Help! I already have had a Yahoo account for years. Thank you LisaH for helping. I guess I haven't completely gone through transition 100% yet. I can send test email from my iPad to another cox account, but when I try sending test email from iPhone to another cox account, I get this: "Cannot Get Mail" No password provided for "Yahoo" Please go to Mail account Settings and enter a password. Any ideas? Both are set as POP3 server settings. I went to my-account-settings and entered my password and got red error message "Invalid password. Please try again" Help! I already have had a Yahoo account for years. Help! I already have a Yahoo account for years. Now what do I do to complete the transition? Did Yahoo create a new different abc@yahoo.com account and password? Or a abc@cox.net account? I don't see any information for users with TWO yahoo accounts. I can't log in! Does it matter if server settings are both POP or IMAP or mixed? for this transition. Need some detailed instructions. (I've looked and searched but not found anything yet for this situation. Re: Yahoo Email Transition - iPhone Setup Can you give us an idea of what is the issue with iPhone Mail app and the Cox transition? I was under the impression that after the "transition" I would just have to change my POP3 or IMAP settings on my iPhone to the new Yahoo server names, etc. Call me "naïve"! "Update Now" email link blocked !!! I got an email from Cox Care <lremaklus@cox.net> or I think it is Cox telling me to "Update Now" for the transition? Is this email valid or is it spam? Dear User customers who have not updated their email account will no longer be able to log in to their COX. Kindly follow the connection underneath to refresh record of emails and up-date account. UPDATE NOW Notice: Ignoring this message would lead to the termination of your Mailbox without permission. Thanks for using Cox 2024 SolvedHow to know when "transition is complete"? I've seen several comments about waiting "until the transition is complete" before making any user or sever changes. OK, but when is that? How am I supposed to know when? Or better is there some kind of status page that show where I am in the transition/user changes? I've gotten three emails from Cox so far: The first on February 3rd. Your Cox.net email is moving soon to Yahoo Mail. A second one on March 22. Your Cox.net email will soon move to Yahoo Mail A third March 23: Cox Important Update!!! ... When is when? And maybe an list of ordered steps of what to do then? Your Cox.net email will soon move to Yahoo Mail Your Cox.net email will soon move to Yahoo Mail "The countdown has begun and your Cox email will transition to Yahoo Mail in about a month. Rest assured, knowing you'll keep using your same Cox.net email address, messages, folders, contacts and calendar!" I just got email from Cox starting with the above quote. Question: What does "Cox email will transition to Yahoo Mail in about a month .." mean? Will I get a definitive count down or date before the process triggers? I need to backup all my current email "just in case" (Outlook on Windows 10 plus Mail app on iPhone). SolvedRe: POP3 or IMAP for Yahoo email transition Thanks to Rdrolet for questions and BrianM for some clarifications. I have a suggestion that I think will help Cox customers as well as Yahoo support: Create a document/website page with various possible scenarios that affect your customers. Start with the simplest first. That would be someone that uses Cox webmail exclusively to send and receive all emails. That shouldn't require hardly any if at all changes. But list preparation and steps suggested afterwards. Create another website page for Cox customer that has webmail access, but primarily uses their iPhone (or iPad) to send and receive all emails using the MAIL app. Include specific steps and please include some screen clips to show changes needed. Create another website for Windows Outlook users that may also include an iPad mixed environment and server settings. Please include or show link to specific Yahoo server settings to access emails, both IMAP and POP3. Also input and output server configurations. I think some detailed documents that leads the customer (us) through the appropriate steps will save time (and frustration) for all. Re: POP3 or IMAP for Yahoo email transition I have Outlook on a desktop Windows PC (outlook.pst) and IOS Mail app on iPhone, all using pop3. This is probably a very common home computer configuration.
