Channels missing, some noisy
Yesterday afternoon Most of the channels on my various cable boxes were missing - "The signal for this TV channel is temporarily unavailable" (Code 3.1.1.2) - but my internet was still up. The Cox website said there was an problem in my area but that service should be back after 8:00pm. In the meantime the internet dropped out a few times and an occasional channel would reappear. This morning the internet is up - for the moment - but I still have a bunch of seemingly random channels out. A few tear or pixelate once in a while. The web site doesn't say anything about an outage. This occurs on both the big cable boxes, the mini-boxes and the box with the DVR in it. It is not specific to a particular box. I've been seeing the same thing recently. Some days are good, others really bad where I have internet connectivity one minute and the next it is gone. I see occasional tears and freezes watching TV through my cable box, too. My work computer will "ding" every time the VPN reconnects and it was doing it all day yesterday.. I've restarted the cable modem and router several times. My main cable line comes into a splitter when it enters the house with one side going to the modem and mini-boxes and the other through an amp to the big cable boxes - exactly as the Cox tech set it up when it was installed.4.4KViews2likes3Comments
