Obviously a Cox network problem but typically their inept Customer 'Support' blames the user. One would expect that since they are getting multiple calls for the same issue, they would realize that this is a network proble. I guess to expect such alalysis being done by the Customer 'Support' group is wishful thinking. Tivo Obsolescence I called in to Tivo cable card support to get a replacement cable card paired and was told that Cox is in the process of doing something across the country that will make Series 2, Series 3HD and the first version of Roamio obsolete. He said that the rollout has started on the east coast and letters have been sent out to Tivo users. I am wondering whether the tech has his facts straight since the reason he gave for the unit not being able to work was Cox transition to mpeg4 encryption. However the Premiere and Roamio units can handle mpeg4 emcryption so there seems to be a disconnect. If anybody has received such a letter please respond here with the details. Three tuning adapters blinking Three days ago one of my tuning adapters went offline (blinking light). Called Customer Service, a update sent and all three Tuning Adapters went offline. Today a tech came and spent a hour 'trouble-shooting' but no joy. Being referred to his 'supervisor'. Anybody else with recent TA problems? Re: Outlook keeps prompting to "Enter Network Password" I have had the same problem for the past month. I do not use outlook. My email client is Thunderbird and I get the same 'enter password' message usually around noon for a few hours. Then it goes away without doing anything different. Problems must be with Cox as many people seem to have the same problem. Email down again - Enter New password I have been getting spurts of email outages with the message "Login to server imap.cox.net with user name xxxxxxx53 failed. I am give choice to retry, enter new password or cancel. I know the password is correct as I can log into webmail. However today even after logging into webmail I could get to my email list. I use Thunderbird and have used without problems for 5 years until the past month. Marty Re: email is down AGAIN! Same issue here. Many ISP post system status to make users aware but not Cox. They don't even tell their tech support when there is a system issue. Re: Email stopped working I am using Thunderbird as my client. Email stopped working About an hour ago (9:00 PDT) I started getting error messages on all of my Cox accounts saying that the "Login to server imap.cox.net with user name xxxx failed". I reentered my password with no success. I was able to login to webmail.cox.net withthe same password but couldn't send any messages (no error message). I recycled the modem and router and restarted my PC to no avail. About 15 minutes before the problem showed up all was well and I was sending emails. Internet dropouts - where are you located? I've been having intermittent internet dropouts for the past 4 days. I just got off the phone with a CSR who was clueless. He kept insisting that it was a wireless problem even though I was connected directly to the modem. It seems from posts that other customers have been having similar problems that started in the same time frame. Some people have mentioned that they have been told that maintenance by Cox is the problem. If you are having a dropout problem that has started showing up within the past week, please post your location here so we can figure out if there is a geographic connection to the problem. I am in Orange County, California. Re: Terrible email 'service' Start filing complaints with the FCC on outages and poor service. Easy to do via the FCC website. Cox MUST resond back to the FCC on resolution of your complaint. If enough people start filing complaints, Cox corporate HQ will start to notice and something may be done.
