I see below that Cox is aware of this problem and is working on it. I've had friends say their emails have bounced back too. Meanwhile, until Cox gets this fixed, am switching everything to my alternate email. Tired of playing "server problem" every time I need to check email. Enough is enough already. Fix it!Re: Bad signal disruption for local channelsStill had to reboot the mini box a couple times, esp during the rainstorm. This morning the lower tier channels were bad as well as the mid-range channels. I didn't have time to reboot the mini-box. There was still some pixelating in early afternoon. However, I noticed two Cox vehicles working in our apartment complex for quite some time in the afternoon. After they left, the reception has been excellent so far ... so am wondering if the problem was loose connections to the main hook ups. Hoping there will be no more problems :)Bad signal disruption for local channelsThe past couple of rainy nights, there has been bad signal disruption for the local channels. They seemed fine when the skies were clear. Tonight (Thursday 10/6) I could barely watch channel 7 (NBS - KSNT). It would black out, then when it did come back on it was pixelated (not sure of the right word) so bad we could only see about 2 seconds of an image. I reset the "mini-box" but the local channels are still messed up, including the Weather Channel - which was fine earlier in the evening before the storms came through. Is this the kind of reception we're going to get every time it storms? Is this a widespread problem in the Topeka area? As stated, other channels seem fine - like the SciFi, the "higher" channels seem fine. ThanksRe: Minibox guide channelsAm curious about the minibox - which I have yet to pick up. There are long long lines at the local store and their voice mail box is FULL. My Samsung tv can sort active channels, but I'm wondering if the minibox will over-ride that feature? Am not looking forward to scrolling :( Hope your grandmother has good luck with hers with your help. btw I'm 66. Am a bit ticked at Cox for their constantly changing services. Our apartment complex contracts with Cox for "free" service - we get quite a few channels and those are sufficient for me. Yet now I'm hesitant to find out what the minibox experience will bring. Can't afford the Contour service that I had in the past. Gone are the days when we could turn on the tv and watch for free ... well, we can now but one needs an antennae setup ($$) and they are only as good as the wind blows lol. Thank goodness for Blu-Ray. Cox - please make things a little easier for your customers!Channels downSeveral channels have been down for two days now, although their HD versions are up. Any word on when this problem will be fixed? Some channels include Weather Channel, CNN News, USA, TBS, TNT.Re: Email down Email down here in Kansas too at 11:38 pm CST. Who knows for how long? Am seriously thinking about switching all my critical email to a different carrier; this isn't the first time email has gone down with no apparent notice to us. Re: Scheduled Maintenance notice Dang, glad my phone service isn't with Cox too or I'd be totally without it for almost 11 hours ... :( Tried to figure out how to access the "more info" box on the scrolling notice ... nice to know ahead of time. Wonder how many people actually even see that notice? Thanks for the heads up. Scheduled Maintenance notice Have been getting the scrolling notice about scheduled maintenance coming up Oct 14 9:00pm to Oct 15 7:00am ... we're in Topeka KS. Guess this means cable tv will be down during that time? Since this means we'll miss some of favorite shows, we'll have to catch them On Demand later. Am I correct in thinking the tv will be down at this time then? Also, does this affect INTERNET too??? Need to know. Thanks very much. Maintenance downtime notice? I keep seeing a scrolling notice about maintenance downtime, but it doesn't stay there long enough to read it. Is there scheduled maintenance coming up for Topeka customers soon? If so, when, and how long? And will it affect tv and internet both? It would be helpful to know ahead of time! The info scroll just doesn't stay up long enough ... I don't have my eyes on the tv screen every single second (esp if I'm on the internet at the same time) so it's hard to catch it. Thanks :) Re: cox online backup deleted and re install name and password issues I had a similar problem. I was "active" when logged into my account, but when I tried to log in my user name and password directly from my computer to the site, the user name and password weren't "valid". Info says this backup service is run by a third party. Have my doubts this third party is keeping up with things, since this seems to be happening to more than one of us. If the backup service login is not working correctly, I am skeptical about even using it. Personally, am going to look into a reliable service besides this one. CNET has good reviews on stuff, will try that. Good luck.
