MLB Extra Innings

Major League baseball season opens today, Sunday April 5, 3025. One game tonight, and a full 14-game schedule tomorrow. Why are there no Extra Inning Channels available to those of who Cox is charging for this service?

    Hi navyVet24,

The MLB Extra Innings schedule starts tomorrow April 6. You can go to http://www.indemand.com/whats-on/sports/mlb/ to see the schedule in your area starting tomorrow.

Thanks. When might we expect to see whatever channels will be available? They do not show up on the guide.

MLB shares the same channels as NHL Center Ice.  It should be channels 671- 684 and available in HD 1671-1679 on our Contour service.

Hi Stephanie, Well, it appears that Cox is "sort of" supporting MLB Extra Innings for this year. As of this morning, channels 671-684 are visible on the Channel Guide. Since there are absolutely no visible channels in the 1671-1684 range, it would appear that we no longer get any baseball games in HD??? Paul

Well, the channels/games appear in my guide (8642HDC/Contour.) What cable box/software are you using?

We have 2 boxes. One is Explorer 41240HDC. The other is Explorer 8240HDC. On both, the channel guide goes: 1441 / 1501 / 1699, then to 11700, 21701, etc. At least last year, I got 2 HD channels for MLB Extra Innings. Cox probably knows that I have been a customer for a long time, and service and support probably goes to new customers first. Paul

The MLB HD channels run on a higher frequency and are PEG4. The Rovi receivers, the ones the you have at this time, are not capable of tuning to these channels. You can upgrade to Contour and enjoy the additional HD channels that are available. If you would like to see about upgrading, please email me at cox.help@cox.com with a link to this thread and your account information.
