Sleep timer with Minibox remote

My bedroom TV, witch will require a Minibox, has a sleep timer function.  It is accessed by a button on it's remote.  Can I program the Cox Minibox remote to activate this function on the TV?  Or will I need 2 remotes ... the Cox remote to change channels and the original remote for other TV functions?

Chances are that the Mini Box remote will only operate the major functions of the TV. The user guide is at

My guess also, Domino, but I am hoping for a workaround.  I really don't want 2 remotes on my nightstand.  The user guide you linked to doesn't say anything.  I found another minibox user guide at: http://media.cox.com/support/print_media/tv/general/cox-mini_user-guide.pdf  It is a 42 page guide but lists "timers" in the index on page 117, 118, .......

Looks like they just copied the index for the Contour user guide here:  http://media.cox.com/support/print_media/tv/interface/general/Trio_Users_Manual.pdf    into the minibox guide.  Anyway, there is nothing in the body of the minibox guide that talks about timers of control of any other tv functions except power and volume.

Hopefully, either Cox will come up with a code so we can control the minibox from the tv's remote or issue a remote that will control all functions of the tv.  Adding another remote just to change channels & access a guide is not acceptable.

Regarding mini-box remote, I also had a problem with my Samsung smart TV and contacted Cox support.  After trying to re-program with all provided codes could not get the so called, Cox Universal, to mirror the Samsung remote.  Hence now I have a basket with two remotes.  My personal feeling is that Cox has done a "TERRIBLE'" job at trying to sell this as "enhancing the user experience".   The initial notice that came with my bill did not provided any information regarding power requirements ( especially problematic for wall mounted sets) , the actual size of this appliance, and the need for another remote.  Not sure what we the users gained, shame on Cox...

I doubt that even the standard URC-8820 will activate the sleep timer on your TV. I know I must use the TV's remote to set timers on my Sony Bravia.

Think about it: The mini-box's sole purpose is to help those on "starter" tiers to retain their analog channels once they go digital. If the remote for the mini-box does anything other than change channels and adjust volume, it's a bonus, AFAIC.
