Adult Advertisements in On Demand

So. Tonight I was watching a movie when my six year old daughter came downstairs after having had a bad dream. I let her sit on the couch with me and watch the last two minutes of my movie and then proceeded to drop back into On Demand to select a children's movie for her to watch.

Needless to say I was both mortified and instantly furious when an advertisement for masturbating milfs came across On Demand, even though I have adult content disabled. I immediately called technical support and was told that there is no way to block porn advertisements in the On Demand section. Is this true? Online support told me the exact opposite, more than once, and even suggested resetting my box to ensure all changes take effect.

If so this is a serious oversight/limitation. One that truly makes me an unhappy customer.

Could you tell me if this was a video advertisment or something in the form of text or a banner that you saw?

Video Advertisement. On Demand runs a constant stream of advertisements for things that are currently On Demand, and apparently porn is advertised at night.

If there is no way to block this, I feel it is extremely irresponsible of Cox Communications. I have a sleepover for my son in two weeks, he is eleven. Obviously they cannot watch On Demand after a certain time of night. What bothers me is I have never noticed this before because I rarely watch On Demand late at night. But it is summertime and we have not blocked access to On Demand in our children's rooms, only blocked purchases and adult content - thinking that was enough. Obviously it is not.

Do you  happen to know which part of the OnDemand menu you were in and could you share which Cox service market you're located in?

I am in South Central Kansas. Here, not sure about everywhere else, you have the constant video teasers/previews that sit at the top center of the screen from the very moment you press "ON DEMAND" on the remote. The bottom half of the screen is the channel listing, movie listing, etc.

During the day you see harmless previews while selecting a movie from one of the on demand channels. Usually WWE, or a trailer for something new, PPV. But late at night they mix in porn it seems.

And to clarify, I am not in the PPV section of On Demand, I am simply in the main On Demand area that has hbo, cinemax, disney, and showtime (as well as three dozen others).

Thanks for the additional details, I've been asking around in the meanwhile to see just what could be happening here.
