I am utilizing a cable card and tuning adapter for my HDHomeRun Prime device and since the digital switch over I cannot tune 1005 FoxHD, 1006 CWHD and 11 or 1011 PBSHD. All of these channels are marked as DRM (copy-once). Before these local channels were marked as DRM free (copy-freely). Why has this changed?

Chris, Cox sets CCI codes as specified in our contractual agreements with each programmer. This can sometimes vary per Cox market. The CCI only affects watching recordings and doesn't stop tuning to a channel. Please disable any firewalls or anti-virus software and see if the issue continues. If it does, please reply back with any error code or if the channel is just a black screen.

Can we get confirmation on what CCI flags are set on the San Diego local channels for both North and South county?

Prior to the digital upgrade Cox had done these channels were copy freely. Additionally, the channels for COZI, ANTENNATV, and a few others were also broadcast with no CCI. The CCI flashes changed as of this week.

Chris, Are you attempting to record from the Prime or just use it for live TV? Can you even tune the locals with the Prime now? I've been using the QAM HomeRuns for years and recording with MythTV. Obviously that stopped this week. I was hoping to replace the QAM HomeRuns with the Prime. I picked up a CableCard last night and the Prime is being delivered today. If Cox has changed the CCI flags on the locals from copy-freely I will be canceling my service. Cox, Can someone officially confirm the CCI flag settings on the San Diego local channels for both North and South?

Jason, I was using the Prime with CableCard and a tuning adapter to watch the local channels and a few others on my MythTV system. Since the CCI has changed on channels 1005,1006, 807, 808, 811, 813,and 814 we are unable to watch live TV or record. With the CCI set as copy-protected or copy-once it is required to have end to end DRM. This requirement necessitates Windows Media center as the only viable product to watch local channels. The difference for you should be the requirement for a prime and cable card to get the local channels because of encryption. With the CCI change CableCard is not enough.

These channel are set to Copy Freely now. It appears we made the change last Friday. Please let us know if you see any additional issues.

PBSHD (Channel 1011) and KPBS (Channel 11) still come through DRMed to me. I am in the San Diego South County service area and am using a HDHomeRun Prime with a Cisco CableCARD and Cisco tuning adapter. I've rebooted both the HDHomeRun and the tuning adapter and ran a channel scan since your last post. Can you please look into this and see if you can get these channels set back to Copy Freely?
