I'm fairly certain we received our modem directly from Cox when we first had our service set up in 2003. It is a Toshiba brand. I didn't see any Toshiba modems listed on that list. Does that mean we might not be getting the most out of our connection?

Not at all. We do not list Toshiba modems on that Support article because they stopped manufacturing cable modems several years ago. The list in that article shows the modems we have tested for use here at Cox and are currently supported versions by the manufacturer. However any modem that supports the DOCSIS 2.0 and 3.0 protocol, such as your Toshiba cable modem, will work on our network. As long as your Internet connection is stable you will not need to consider upgrading to a currently shipping modem.
