Can't connect to https://wifi.cox.com on Amazon HD8 tablet. Screen says to use Chrome or Firefox (not applicable to tablet). Worked "forever" to find out what devices were connected prior to this problem..
Yes I have done this repeatedly. This problem exists on multiple generations of Amazon Fire HD8 tablets (6th 7th and 8th generations). When I launch wifi.cox.com on the Amazon tablet browser it takes me to wifi.cox.com/unsupported-browser.html. Solution?
How do access myWiFi from my tablets like I have done for years? All I get now is unsupported browser!
What browser is on Fire tablets? Silk? If so it is probably not supported by Cox anymore.
Yes, Silk on Amazon HD8 tablets. Strange that Cox doesn't want to support the huge market of Amazon tablets. It had worked well for years. I have not found a work-around to be able to see what devices are actively connected to my wifi. Any help would be appreciated. Strange that I can get to cox.com and other aspects of my cox service on these HD 8 tablets .... just not anything to do with my use of wifi.
There are ways to load Chrome or Firefox on HD8 tablets. Here is one I pulled up in google real quick, so take with a grain of salt.
I had once tried to enable the Google Play store on an Amazon HD8 tablet. Successful, but then some of Amazon-specific apps quit working. So I backed out the modification. It sure would be nice if Cox could re-enable this WiFi link since it worked so well for so long. It is the "only" link/app that dies on the Amazon tablet from Cox that I have found.. .
