Why does the guide have to block the whole screen. Is there any way to view the guide and the tv show at the same time. Can I make the guide smaller so it doesn't cover the whole screen

If you have the Contour 2 service, the guide can be set for close to transparent so that you can still watch the program behind your guide. To check the setting, please press the Contour button on your remote & go to settings. Under preferences, go to general & make sure that the darkness settings is set to 1. This should allow you to still see your program behind the guide.
