Thanks for the offer, but I think that would be awkward since I am just a helper here, not an actual Cox customer. Hopefully the firmware updates. I have heard of people having issues with that. It's getting harder and harder to find someone at Cox who knows how to help as Cox decreases support for CC more and more.
As of now, following reboots, the tuning adapter seems to be on solid and allows diagnostic and channel screens which it did not do yesterday. However keep getting a cable card message now saying to call cox to activate service. I really do not want to start the level 1 nightmare all over again. Thanks

My guess is they messed up your pairing when adding the new tuner adapter. What exactly is the message? I suggest contacting Cox via the method mentioned by the moderator and see if they can check your pairing data(they will need to confirm info from the card/screen) and send a pairing signal. You can also try calling;

Tech just said he was going to ask them to Unpair/repair it.
RePair completed. Fixed!
Bottom line, Cox made some sort of change that made a tuning adapter mandatory. It affected many customers here in Tucson. Cox support had no idea this had happened. The Level 2 onsite tech diagnosed it after several calls with the same problem. The Onsite tech was super knowledgeable and outstanding.
Really odd that the tuning adapters take 24 to 48 hours to update their firmware. He was aware of this and said he did know of someone at Cox who could do a manual update but they were not available.
Does anyone know how much longer Cox will support Tivo's? We used their DVR for a few weeks and it was horrible.
Dang. these little tuning adapters sure get hot. This one is out in the open air, not in a cabinet.
Tech sent some authorizations. Rebooting again.
