Sports Recording Got Wrong Game

According to the TV Guide the Washington Capitals were playing hockeyon both channel 248 NHL Network Channel and 57 NBCSWAH (local sports channel).  Game was playing on 57, but DVR recorded 248 which was a nascar event even though the guide said Capitals Hockey.   It did not record channel 57, but did record 248, and the game was missed.  This has happened before when there are multiple channels that the game is listed on.  I have the Capitals Hockey set as top priority.  How do I get the DVR to pick the right Capitals Hockey channel?
