Replaced Contour 2 Box (Arris) and it sounds like a truck

The new replacement Contour Box has two major issues; (1) Can't see the clock, digits not lit up and (2) the HDD sounds like a truck continually. I would take it in to be replaced after only 2 days, ...

Some people don't like Cloud DVR so I think it's still a option. They still list those boxes here.

Yes, it's an option.  But does Cox order new ones to fulfill your option?  If Cox doesn't order new ones, Cox can only reissue old ones...old, squeaky ones.

    Good question. Maybe the non Cloud DVRs are refurbished only now. I guess there is only one way to find out; to ask.

      I didn't look at all of the DVR boxes on the list, but these seem like really old technology with composite and component connectors.

      If Cox does order new DVR boxes, I'd ask for one with an SSD.  If the Solution Store chortles, probably not worth asking.

        I don't think they make DVR with SSDs. Besides, aren't most SSDs M.2 now? Though you can still buy SATA SSDs they just aren't as popular because of new standardization. There is a interesting article about it here.
