Non Tech support is terrible and incompetent
On 5/12 I called to put my TV and Internet on Seasonal Hold until October. I had to call 4 times because 3 times they said they were transferring me to someone else who could help but instead cut me off and hung up. 1 person said they didn’t even know what Seasonal Hold was and then hung up while allegedly transferring. I wasted 45 minutes calling over and over, being cut off and getting transferred to the wrong people who didn’t know how to do it. So on the 4th call I demanded the support person do a “warm transfer” where he stayed on the line with me so he didn’t hang up, made him write down my phone # if I did get cut off and finally got transferred to someone who set up the dates for the start and finish of a Seasonal Hold.
But wait, it gets worse, I am hoping they effect the Seasonal Hold, not sure about anything with these Mopes, but as of 5/12 COX cancelled my DVR subscription after 11 years which wiped out all my saved recordings, cancelled all my upcoming recordings and made it impossible to record a new program, even manually by pushing the red button. We found that out the next day when we discovered all our programs were gone and could not record anything. Luckily a Tech Support person was able to restore my DVR service last night but it took over 30 minutes and multiple refreshes which meant the program we were watching went dark.
I believe COX has a log of all my calls and knows who answered and therefore knows who cancelled my DVR subscription. Not only does COX need to train their service people much better but the idiot who cancelled my DVR needs to be sent to work for the Federal Gov’t where this person would fit in with other mindless minions doing almost nothing.
