Contour boots up with sound mute

Lately, when I turn on my Contour from off, the sound is muted.  I can unmute it with the contour remote.  I’ve checked my LG tv and Samsung sound bar and none of the menu options have changed or would permit such behavior.  No new devices have been connected or disconnected.  I’m stumped.
