Adjusted the cords multiple times and checked if they were plugged in correctly but it keeps saying 1A09

That error message means the cable box not getting a signal. Have you also check for a splitter or amp? If there is one try and bypass it, if you have a working outlet for testing purposes you can try using that outlet.
