It should work just following the set up steps from Netgear. That said, I’d recommend an access point instead. It would mean running Ethernet cable from your Cox Panoramic gateway/modem/router to a location in the house where you want connectivity. Worth researching if you haven’t already considered it. The biggest benefit is speed. With the AC1200, you’ll drop to half of what you get now on WiFi. So while you may get a signal to the area you need it may be too slow for what you intend to connect (eg. Gaming device or media steaming).
