WiFi for Desktop PC is horribly inconsistent
Just recently got internet going on 5/1/2023. All my devices, it seems like the wifi works extremely well, but for my desktop PC, it is really bad. You may think this is a desktop issue, but its not....

Run a ethernet wire from where the ONT and router are to where your desktop is. Gamers shouldn't game on wireless if at all possible IMO. With that said, how do you have the wireless settings configured? Do you have the two bands(2.4 and 5Ghz) separated? if so, are you connecting to 5Ghz?
Yeah I agree. I definitely don't want to connect wirelessly, but the ethernet cable would have to run from my closet, through my bedroom, and into the living room where my desk is. It'd be super intrusive. Also, for some reason, there isn't an indication of a separate network. In the past, I've had the option to select either the 2.4 or the 5, but not this time so I'm not sure what happened.
See step 5 of these instructions and uncheck the box for "Use different names and passwords for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi". That should disable band steering and separate the 2.4Ghz from the 5Ghz network name. Then connect to the 5Ghz network and see if your connection is any better. If so, it is probably 2.4Ghz congestion. If not, try updating your adapters software.
Do you have a coaxial outlet where the router is and where the desktop is? If so, you could buy and use a MoCA adapter. MoCA is networking over coaxial.
Use a TP-Link powerline adapter. I have been using one for a long time, one end connects via ethernet to the pano, then plugs into a power outlet, the OTHER end plugs into the power outlet where the computer is, and you can connect your ethernet from the computer to the adapter. MINE also has a wifi broadcast from that second unit as well, so I get a mesh network setup out of it, since it's programed exactly the same as my router ssid and wpa key.
BTW, your pano should NOT be in a closet, probably the most ridiculous place to put a router next to behind a TV. Your router, in a closet has to push the signal through the walls of the closet, and/or door, which reduces your wifi capability by at least 15% instantly. A standard drywall will reduce the broadcast power of a WiFi router by approximately 6ft. Take an android phone and run WiFi Analyzer, both inside the closet, then outside and see what your dBm drop is.
ALSO, with all the other wires running in the closet, think Faraday Cage. I cannot even imagine the thought process that someone went through to design a system, where you put a router inside a closet surrounded by materials that block the signal, and thought this was a good idea.
I find MoCA is better then powerline in most situations, especially if you have old electrical wires in your house. However OP hasn't answered if coaxial is available at both locations.
It sounds like he has a fiber connection, connected to a pano router/ connected toi a netgear router. ALL a recipe for disaster, ALL inside a Faraday cage.
