sb8200 - gigablast slow and not all channels locked

I have done all the basic trouble shooting, the last thing I just did was haul the modem and my laptop out side, disconnected cable in cox box and plugged modem directly into line thats buried in the ground... still a handful of channels will not connect, I assume this is due to line noise?
