I did it several times. The speed remains the same as before the re-boot.

Thanks for sharing, if you're able to duplicate the issue without the router it may be time to see about having a technician come out to troubleshoot further. If you'd like help getting that setup feel free to email us at cox.help@cox.com and be sure to include a link to this thread for reference purposes.

First, this happens even when the router is out of the way. The problem is that it's not my local problem - it seems to be dependent on the time of day. Speeds are fine during the day, than they slow down from approximately 6PM to 10PM and than go back to normal. It looks like something to do with the Cox servers or the local mode. In the last couple of day the slow down is less severe, so I'm waiting to see if it will go away completely. If it doesn't I will have a tech come out, though it seems useless.

Having a tech come out will help to check the area and if there is an issue that needs further assistance the tech can notate that and escalate the issue with the information he is able to collect. If the issues need to be escalated the tech will be able to give you a ticket number along with contact information. The tech can also discuss any next steps with you. Please feel free to contact us at cox.help@cox.com. Please include your complete home address, your first/last name/ and the name of the primary account holder.
Also, include a link to your Forums message.
We have 5-7 pm time slots. That may be the best time to have the tech come out based on your observation that the issues occur between 6 pm to 10 pm.
Thank you,
Mike J.
