BTW, a splitter splits the coaxial signal from Cox so you can use it to connect your modem and your TV boxes. If you have a lot of TV boxes and they aren't wireless, it is better to split the signal with one two way splitter, connect one end to the modem and the other to a second splitter for as many outlets as you have TV boxes. If your signal levels are still low without the splitter, I suggest a technician. If they are good without the splitter, probably a bad splitter and suggest replacing it.
I appreciate your help. The tech advised that a malfunctioning amplifier was causing the problem. It was removed, along with the splitter, we tested all Cox boxes (my Cable TV was out as well) and everything seems to be working. Fingers crossed I won’t need new equipment for a while at least. Thanks again.

Glad the technician could fix it. Amps are bad for modems in general IMO. You probably won't need a new DOCSIS 3.1 modem unless you or Cox upgrade the plan or want the faster upload(if available in your area).
