Moderators, what is your policy?

I am seeing a lot more "Please email us" replies and then locking the thread, even for basic troubleshooting questions. Why is this done? Is this some policy where Cox wants as little info on this forum as possible? Also, why does it seem that some moderators just copy/paste answers? Are they bots? Outsourced? Just bad at their jobs? Please explain. If you lock this thread, I will just post another one.

  • Hello WiderMouthOpen, I appreciate your questions. Our team isn’t outsourced, and we aren’t bots. I’m sorry if we come across that way. Our policy has always been to provide the best possible support for our customers. We’re working through some challenges that may have made it seem like our approach to Forums has changed. Thanks for sticking with us during this time. Your knowledge and experience are definitely appreciated!

      Look at all the moderator's posts over the last 6 months or so. Just about everyone has been the moderator using a copy/pasta script telling people the post is off topic and for them to email Cox. I would understand that, even expect it. if the post involved personal info but many times it's not that. Look at this post;

      "Need help with internet" was all the OP said. Rather then doing basic troubleshooting here, you tell them to email Cox. Why? Given that OP didn't even say what was wrong, how could you know it's a issue outside of scope? This screams a lack of transparency with Cox. Also, it seems that Cox don't know how moderators work. They are like umpires. They keep everyone following the rules. They DON"T give their own input unless someone asks. There is another reason you are doing this and I think it has a lot to do with controlling PR. If your grandma came up to you asking to help with their internet, would you forward them to Cox, or talk to them like a actual humane being. Don't get mad being called a bot when that is exactly how you sound like.
